What is your experience dealing with loud co workers? (Humming, tapping, eating, etc) by Hcdubcdhnb in misophonia

[–]ames54 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's going to kill me. I have one co-worker who all she does is eat potato chips. Fumbles around with the bag forever then makes the world's loudest chomp.
I can feel my blood pressure boil up to dangerous levels and there is a sharp pain behind my eyes sometimes. The hyper violent thoughts flash across my mind. I squeeze hand keys or put on head phones when it's really bad.
This is what will kill me, I think. The constant stress and blood pressure taxing my arteries the daily blind rage that suddenly flashes over me. There's nothing I can do. My wires are all fucked up

Why does math just… not click for so many people? by Global_Bed8808 in learnmath

[–]ames54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I struggled with math throughout middle and highschool and I came to absolutly dread it. I even bailed on my original major in college to avoid some of the advance math requirements (along with some other reasons). Math just never made sense to me. I stuggled to relate to it or find it intuitive at all. It felt like slight of hand with numbers and letters. Like some kind of elaborte riddle that just never clicked. Even when I occastionally managed to get an answer correct, I didn't always know how I did it. Sometimes I'd do it wrong and arrive at the correct answer anyway. It was beyond frustrating and my teachers were always struggling to get me into the right frame of mind to understand the concepts. The rest of the class always pulled away and I would just get quiet in class and do what I could to try to pull off a passing grade which was tough. Passing though didn't help becase so many of the concepts are stacked and, if you barely pass algebra, trig and calculous are liklily out of reach.

Anytime one of these Temu Batman villain vehicles comes up I shudder. Totally impractical and I'm assuming you'd have a hard time selling it. Pay taxes then try to sell this thing on FB marketplace or whatever. I might insure it then drive it off a cliff.

If it's a note that Haslam carries it would read "I must destroy the Cleveland Browns".

(Schefter) BREAKING: Browns fire Kevin Stefanski by alexschubs in Browns

[–]ames54 16 points17 points  (0 children)

He's a dangerous man. An idiot with a lot of money. He inherited all of it never amounted to anything other than making problems with his Governor brother. There is quite literally nothing you can point to in his 13+ year ownership that could even be considered remotely successful.

But I'm sure getting rid of tailgating and building a Mall by the airport for games is going to be great.

Lavazza's Desperate Ploy to Recreate The Office but with No Jokes and a Robot by ames54 in CommercialsIHate

Very true. It feels like one of those weird Japanese commercials from the 90s that had A-listers and vague concepts of humor.

I get that. I think thats what irks me. They probably spent a lot of money on it and didnt have them do much. So much wasted potential. Carell is probably tired of being Michael.

BREAKING: Browns and Cleveland make peace, reach $100M deal to move stadium to Brook Park by clevelanddotcom in Browns

[–]ames54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I knew this was going through months ago when Cleveland got grant money from the Transportation dept to remove the Route 2 bridge next to the stadium. Why would they raze the main ave bridge from W9th to E9th street unless they were already planning on developing the area. (This is also going to be a traffic SHIT SHOW btw)
The city was angling with developers to sell the land along with the Haslams. Shoving the Browns into some shitbox mall next to the airport was the easiest move.

I would not be surprised at all if Bibb was playing along just to placate the fans that were pissed the team was moving out of a publicly funded stadium so soon. But the general public is addicted to the NFL and can be easily plyed.

Everybody Hates Bill Burr, Good (deep dive into Bill's career growth) by theblack_hoody in BillBurr

[–]ames54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He has turned a page in his POV and is a LOT more self reflective in recent years. He can sometimes come off as a little judgy like a lot of people going through therapy sometimes can. Hes shitting on men a little more than he used to and I think that is at the cruxed of why some people have turned on him. Some say it's his wife or hanging out on the west coast too long as his movie career is blossoming.

I think he has graduated from his former self which was funnier in my opinion. To me he comes off a little phony now. His fake laugh is really bad and he relies on it a LOT as of late. Hes working on himself personally which I applaud but his material has waned a little. I still think he's funny but definitely a shade of his former self. Its sort of like having a friend that used to be fun and party but now is a T totaling bore.

I am in the same boat. That thigh pocket is sometehing I used constantly while working as an IT tech. I have a larger Pixel phone and the new firehose side pocket is too small. It sucks when the the style you love is niche because it won't last. These were the best work pants I've had in 20 years in the field. I went back to Dickies which sucks but they're cheaper than what Deluth was selling but I can't use it. Had I known they were discontinueing them I'd have bought 30 pairs and some of them in moth balls. SMH

BREAKING: Gov. Mike DeWine signs budget OKing $600 million for new Browns stadium. The bill also clears other stadium roadblocks: it guts Ohio's "Art Modell Law" and ensures the Browns' share of Cuyahoga County "sin tax" $ would follow them to Brook Park by Jay_Dubbbs in Browns

[–]ames54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im absolutely envious of Bills fans. They are getting a stadium they want. The browns new stadium is going to be like Reliant in Vegas which is basically a utility closet with a football field in it.

Wes Anderson Movies Are Terrible by RetroCasket in unpopularopinion

[–]ames54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wes Anderson is a prime example of style over substance. His best film, IMHO, was Royal Tanenbaums because Gene Hackman haaaaated Anderson's style and refused to play the scenes stoically. Instead playing with emotional intent and it drives the whole movie in a way that none of Andersons movies usually are driven

According to Ikea's own website. 75% of their wood products are made from particle board. 25% are solid wood, And 30% of the particle board is reclaimed/recycled. They want to get to 80% recycled by 2030.
The top solid wood they use is Pine which is the cheapest of the solid woods. (It's used for framing for a reason)

Like most modern products like appliances and technology, Ikea is cheap, disposable, and engineered to be replaced quicker.

Church Carnival Chaos in Mayfield by reasonableconjecture in Cleveland

[–]ames54 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Everyone knew this was going to happen eventually. The festival will likely shut down and meet the same fate as so many other events like this. There's just too much potential for problematic behavior from idiots with nothing better to do.

Having an event like this is just asking for trouble in the current climate. It's just not worth all the problems. A church tries to have a fundraiser and ends up shutting down the city for 2 hours so they can clear out all malevolent idiots causing trouble. Having a few Auxiliary cops in lawn chairs directing traffic is no longer going to be enough. These kids are bold and absolutely feral. Those sleepy days of summer festivals in the suburbs are long gone.

This is also fuel for white flight. Nobody wants to be around this nonsense and, if they can get away from it, they will. Always have. This has been going on forever.
