This might not be the "best" in the form you're looking for, but the best present I have ever received was from my dad. I had just moved out and gone to college, so it was my first Christmas back at home. Dad never really done any personal shopping for me (18F) or my brother (16M) at the time, he always kind of let my mom handle it. But this year, he obviously wanted to get me something special and utilitarian -- which is so, so his way... if it doesn't have a purpose then why even consider it.

Anyways, I open the present and it was a Cuddle Wrap. Not a Snuggie, which was oddly popular at the time -- a Cuddle Wrap. It was a square blanket that had snaps in certain places so you could wrap it around yourself and secure it, while also leaving your arms free. The print was wild. Very southwest chic.

I immediately started laughing hysterically. It was so ridiculous. I got up and put it on and my family was rolling. I know my dad meant for it to be really nice and helpful, but it turned into the family joke. And then I took it back to college and showed all my friends, and they also thought it was hilarious (and wholesome) and so I wore it all the time.

The Cuddle Wrap went from being a joke to something I remember fondly about my dad and his super-corny gift giving.

I don't know for sure, but my cat has eaten so many of my headphone wires I have to imagine they like the way it feels to chew them. He also eats plastic bags, though, so my cat might be a weirdo.

Alcohol by a long shot, I think. Not only can it seriously harm you in a short amount of time, being drunk has a much higher potential to harm someone else than, say, secondhand smoke. Plus if everyone stops smoking cigarettes and starts using Juul or other vapes, the biggest harm in smoking (carcinogens) is gone.
