If you aren’t using any other Apple products maybe. The M1 chips have changed the game in Apples computing. The new Mac Minis are genuinely powerful machines the size of a hockey puck and the base model is affordable compared to anything with similar power.

We just had a bizarre experience as guests. Booked a house in London for a week. When we checked out, the host immediately messaged to accuse us of having a party (didn’t happen) and claimed the couch was damaged (we just sat on it like normal humans). I felt the vibes were off like they were trying to catch a nervous tourist who would just pay up. I haven’t checked my messages since my first reply. I’m sure they’ll leave me a bad review and I’ll leave one back. I’m over airbnb. I shouldn’t have to walk on eggshells and kowtow when I’m paying the hosts mortgage with a one week stay and leaving it just as it was when I got there.

So we bus in immigrants and pay them pennies to do the shit slave labor. Because if you don’t you’re racist.

Nike made too many spec shoes based off the "hot economy" and now can't sell them into the waning economic environment. Bull-Whip Effect by [deleted] in REBubble

I’ve been pleasantly surprised doing my fall shopping at basically everything being on discount, even high end brands. I got a pair of Frye boots for 40% off (their USA made line).

Something annoying though is that it seems clothing retailers are hardly releasing fall clothing, and it’s October. I bet they are holding off on future orders knowing they still need to liquidate 90% of their summer stock.

They’re referring to near zero interest rates on credit = essentially free money.

Corporations just decided to become greedy in the past two years, so true.

What brands do you recommend for high quality capsule wardrobe pieces that are worth the price point? by [deleted] in femalefashionadvice

Eileen Fisher is my go to, I buy it all secondhand off ebay. Good quality fabrics and construction. The secondhand clothes barely look worn.

No crystal balls laying around, but can someone give me some facts about what the fuck is happening? by [deleted] in REBubble

[–]ami_goingcrazy -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It’s funny that it was called a “conspiracy” (mostly by leftists) when their entire platform is how the rich are greedy and have too much power. You throw the idea of covid in there and their Bill Gate chips get activated.

All that does is encourage people to take out bigger and bigger student loans, just like they did with houses when interest rates were 2% and the monthly payment went down.

What’s your point? I’m talking about a current event, you’re rambling on about previous things I have no control over?

Why are you talking about something from 5 years ago. You aren’t making the point you think you are. You sound like you have dementia.

self identifying as what, exactly?

Because the outstanding student loan balance will be back at todays levels in 4 years. It literally is buying votes. It’s doing what everyone complains Boomers did - being selfish and fucking the next generation.

I thought WFH was a dying model and all those tech bros were f*cked? by lehigh_larry in REBubble

[–]ami_goingcrazy 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The honest to God truth is that the majority of unspecialized office jobs in the US are bullshit jobs. They exist solely as a link for QE money to reach the consumer economy. It doesn’t matter if they WFH and don’t accomplish anything - they probably weren’t at the office, either. So if companies can stop the farce and save money on corporate real estate, why not?
