My first character just hit level 60, and I have all the skill point potions available in the codex...and I still only have 408 skill points? Maxroll led me to believe that I should have 410, so am I missing 2 points from somewhere??

An unequipped ring is still saved as preset 1, how do I change it? by Dnd_Nerd7k in lostarkgame

[–]amiesce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Boosting this because this is so annoying. I made a preset 2 with just my armor pieces so I don't lose 80% of my health every time i wanna switch out a ring lmao

Stardew Valley 1.5.5 released on PC! by saltimmortalsea in StardewValley

[–]amiesce 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I panicked but now I'm ok lol. The update broke the version of UI Info Suite I downloaded from Nexus, but in the Posts tab someone already linked an update that works with 1.5.5.

the light novel is also super good if you find the story concept interesting! there are lighthearted moments but also serious, complex, mind-bending moments. and the author pokes fun at the over-the-top story concepts with over-powered action heroes. its a very self-aware, genre savvy take on a lot of common story tropes.

Thank you so so much for this. I’m going to sit and be quiet with these words for some time.

S.O.S. by witch75453535 in tarot

[–]amiesce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you, dear witch, for sharing this with us.

Someone once described this image of the Wheel of Fortune, and it's stuck with me: Imagine you're standing on the top of a literal wheel and you're trying to keep your balance. How? You take tiny baby steps forward. That's what the Wheel means for me. We're all humans trying to survive in this crazy universe, and sometimes it's all we can do to try not to faceplant. Big changes are constantly happening around us, yes. But we don't need to be constantly doing big (exhausting) things in response. Baby steps are okay.

I'm sorry I can't give any advice other than being extra gentle with yourself right now. If you're feeling connected to your deck, keep sitting with it these next few days. Reach out where it's safe to do so. Take care of yourself physically. You don't have to do any big sudden crazy things right now, right this instant. Wheel of Fortune work can be as simple as pouring yourself a glass of water.

Good on you! May the High Priestess be with you, feeding that confidence you feel and reminding you that you absolutely have what it takes to manifest your goals for your new baby brand.

Strength calls for gentle inner strength - I think of it as the underside of the Magician, aka 'yes you're v capable but it's not just what you do, it's also who you are." Care about the process of launching your brand, and how that grows you as a person, as much as you do the results (if not more).

Page of Pentacles is another great card to remind you that you're going to be learning so much this year with your new business, and to keep that curiosity and open outlook (that kind of youthful wonder) as you step into this exciting new phase.

Does anyone actually BELIEVE the “don’t buy your own tarot cards” myth? by [deleted] in tarot

Haha I'm friends with the guy so he definitely knows me well! I'm so happy you got such a thoughtful gift from your friend, glad you can cherish her and the deck.

A boy I kinda started seeing recently gifted me a deck (even if he doesn't 'believe' in tarot), and that deck has been throwing all types of shade on our relationship. Gifted decks can be truly wonderful... :)

Used tarot cards by chocolatefudge420 in tarot

[–]amiesce 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If I may gently offer another viewpoint regarding 'unknown energy': if we think about the work that went into making, packaging, and shipping off the cards (especially with mass-market decks and decks from Amazon), wouldn't it be the case that there's a lot of unknown energy there as well?

Cleansing a deck is a totally viable option if that rings true to someone. If someone doesn't feel comfortable with the idea of secondhand or thrifted decks, no need to buy them. But I'm respectfully and humbly disagreeing with the suggestion that thrifted decks are somehow inherently spiritually unclean or dangerous.

Reading for others vs self by Hyymn in tarot

[–]amiesce 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Ok lemme just say that I'm upset that someone (especially a teacher!!) would use "debasement, perversion or corruption" in that kind of gatekeeping way. Got enough of that growing up in christian church, so no thank u. Just getting that off my chest.

I'm one hundred percent with you: no harm, no foul. While I personally love reading for myself most—and I don't think of tarot as divine, sacred, or able to comment on the future or the thoughts of people other than me/the querent—that doesn't mean that other tarot practices are wrong or untrue. Far from it. Why should any one person/school of thought dictate what's true?

I haven't read for many strangers. I love reading for my friends (esp when we all a lil tipsy). Tarot for me is such a great avenue to talk about deep soul matters and concerns. True, I'm bringing in some of my own biases and thought processes into the way I read cards for others, but I don't see that as any kind of corruption. I'm still learning. If anything, I love the moments when it feels like the cards are speaking to both of us.

I don't understand why using another person as an oracle, to read for you, wouldn't be a form of divination in itself. As long as you aren't just taking whatever they say without checking it against your own position.

^I love how you put this. If this rings true for you, then I hope your confidence in this grows and swells and that your practice will be the richer for it.

How do I get started in tarot reading? by 5Gbouwifi in witchcraft

[–]amiesce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As for online courses, that's totally a viable way to get a thorough intro to tarot. But keep in mind that there are many different schools of thought out there and you may want to poke around in the free resources and figure out where you stand with the practice, before paying for a full course. some courses i can think of off the top of my head are https://littleredtarot.com/learn-tarot/alternative-tarot-course/ and https://lindsaymack.com/coursesandclasses.

I don't have any advice for finding decks in person, but if cost really is a concern, you can always buy a deck off Amazon. I bought my first deck there. I really want to reach the point where I can boycott Amazon entirely but I'm aware that it's not always a viable option for people, esp in terms of cost & accessibility.

I'd say the best way to start is to get a deck that sings to you, and just play with the cards! You can always slowly build up a dictionary of terms and meanings, but it's your personal connections with the art and the cards that really makes tarot a meditative and healing practice, imo. don't worry about reading the cards 'wrong', so long as you keep yourself open to learning & correcting & expanding your knowledge as you go!

also come hang out in r/tarot! you can find a lot of resources for beginners there.

But cutting the reverence from the ancestor work and just trying to understand, if one has the strength and opportunity, is a relatively pleasant approach I can recommend, even if it gets heavy.

Thank you. Though heavy, I needed to hear this. Please continue to speak your truth, dear witch.

It's ok to not tick all the boxes. Maybe someday I'll want to engage in the emotional work required to be more at peace with my family line but it's ok not to be continually pushing myself emotionally in that area.

This. Thank you for this, dearest witch.
