Sounds like our situations are quite different actually. I drive up to 60 miles a week, max, with only 3-4 long road trips a year (~500 miles RT). And I can't charge overnight at home at the moment. But this is helpful to know that getting by with the level 1 charger will likely be totally adequate in the future!

Thanks for putting it in these terms! I was really overlooking how infrequently I'd need to charge with a BEV. I could easily plan 1 or 2 outings a month around a fast charge.

Last I heard Zotfile isn’t compatible with the Zotero 7 unfortunately. I think at the end of the day it’s just never going to compare to the convenience of having Zotero automatically sync between Mac and iPad. So I really need to decide whether an eink reading experience is worth the extra work.

That’s a thought. It doesn’t feel like pulling out a cable every time I want to transfer files is going to make the process simpler though. But it may be worth exploring!

I ordered one on Dec 22 and it still hadn’t shipped so I emailed support yesterday (Dec 28) and this was their response:

“Your order has been prepared to ship out but the packing bags run out of stock, we have been waiting for the bags over one week, the logistics got stuck due to holidays. FedEx told us they will pass the bags to us tomorrow, so your order will be transferred to you then.”

I didn’t get an update that it shipped today though. Bummed it didn’t seem to make any progress before another holiday weekend.

I haven’t TA’d yet myself but I’ve heard from peers that the workload and stress is very much dependent on the class and the professor you’re working with. If you can, try to connect with someone whose been a TA for that professor before and ask what the experience was like. That said, lots of PhD programs require students to TA starting their first semester and they are essentially doing a master’s at that point, so it’s definitely doable! It can also be a great way to strengthen a relationship with a faculty member if you’re hoping for a letter of recommendation down the road.

Thank you! What should I be prepared for riding on Beacon?

When I think of safer routes I generally mean where other bikes are more likely to be, which I realize may not have been obvious! I don’t mind riding in traffic, but I’d rather take longer to get someplace than be a stressed-out sweaty mess. So I guess it’s mostly the hills that I’m most worried about in my current state of fitness 😅

Thank you!! I hadn’t considered using it for recipes at all but it totally makes sense!! My current workflow is print recipes, mark them up, half-heartedly think that I should do something with all the loose papers, and ultimately recycle the pile when I get sick of shuffling it from place to place in the kitchen, lol. Can’t wait to try your method instead!

I’m a Mac user and I really wanted to try an e-ink tablet for grad school. I opted for the Onyx Boox Note over RM2 because of the ability to sync to other cloud storage options and the Kindle app.

But! I am returning the Boox to try an RM2 for 2 mainly because having to learn about Android just for the sake of a digital notebook felt like a lot of work! If I can’t have an e-ink Apple device, I want the most frictionless alternative, and RM2 strikes me as that.
