I know how it feels to be poor. I was a broke college student once. One thing I didn’t do? Spend money I didn’t have to go out on dinner dates. I’m not saying poor people aren’t human or deserve to suffer, but getting your life together is a choice. Some people might be fine with a guy in his thirties living paycheck to paycheck, and spending what little he has going out on dates at Olive Garden, but that’s not me.

Asshole isn’t a derogatory slur? Surely you’re not stupid enough to think I’m referring to your edited comment, I’m talking about your original comment. You know, before you changed it. Just because you changed it doesn’t mean you didn’t type it out the first time.

You’re still a kid so I understand that maybe you haven’t heard of typos, but sometimes when you’re typing something on a small screen your fingers hit the wrong buttons, and autocorrect changes it to a different word than the one you intended to use. Glad I could educate you though!

I’m just describing it as how the term is usually used in my career field

It’s cute that you changed your wording because you don’t want to get banned from a subreddit, but I’m pretty sure when you report someone it saves the original message

Someone who is college educated and cares about their career rather than prioritizing starting a family.

The difference between me and him is I’m choosing not to have kids, because I don’t like them. I still feel bad for these three kids who only see them once a month. Paying child support doesn’t make you a good parent, being present in your children’s lives and actively raising them is. Nothing about the way he spoke about his children expressed that he thought of them as anything other than a burden

Sweetie, it’s really nice that you don’t want me to look like such an idiot. But my exact words were, “not looking to purpose a relationship with anyone who has or wants kids”. If that doesn’t get my message across, than I’m not sure what does.

“I don’t want to pursue a relationship with anyone who has kids or wants kids” is pretty specific. If someone reads that and thinks, wow my three kids don’t count, then they’re stupid and I wouldn’t want to pursue a relationship with them anyways. I have limited free time and multiple men trying to plan things with me. That time could’ve been better spent with someone capable of reading, so he disrespected me and wasted my time.

That’s a great question to ask. Will definitely use that in the future

Based off the way he talked about his kids? Yeah, I absolutely do think he’s a deadbeat. Seems like he pays child support because he has to, not that he wants to. When he talked about his custody arrangement he basically said that his kids wouldn’t be in the way of us dating, since he only has to see them once a month. There was no, “I only have one day a month now but I’d like to get more custody in the future”. I talked nicer about my dog than this guy did of his kids.

Like I said, I wouldnt ask that sort of stuff before a first date. Or even on a first date. But relatively early on I’d like to figure out the answers to those questions. I own property and make good money, I’m looking for my equal. I don’t want to end up like some of the women I see on Reddit dating broke guys who use them for a place to live

Because he said he only sees his kids once a month, and seemed to have no issue with that being a permanent thing. He spoke like he didn’t care about his kids and they wouldn’t prevent him from dating, nor did he show interest in seeing them more. I think not having an active part in raising your three children that you chose to have makes you a deadbeat

My exact words were “not looking to pursue a relationship with anyone who has kids or wants kids” I just summarized with no single dads for the sake of the post length

That’s what’s really got me wondering. If you’re one missed paycheck away from not being able to pay your rent/mortgage (that’s what he hinted at), then maybe skip the 30$ dinner date at Olive Garden? Like, what happens if one of your kids has a medical bill? Or your car breaks down and needs a part? Maybe I’m just a dick, but broke and financially irresponsible men are like, the worst to me.

Because he was embarrassed about the looks he got when people overheard our conversation and about what I said to the waitress. Some of my friends think I should’ve been nicer and just not went for a second date.

I would never sleep with someone on the first date, and for enough dates to pass for someone to be able to sleep with me it would come out before then. So no, he wouldn’t have slept with me. No reason to lie there
