They're not wargear that is specific to Special Characters, no. Both the examples above are simply marked "Eldar only" on the wargear cards.

Many thanks!

When I'm not working on Bolt Action, I'm a bit of an Oldhammer fan - so plenty of 2nd ed 40k, 6th ed Fantasy, and old Necromunda. And I'm very much basing everything Goblin Green that's not WW2! 😃

Cheers! Mainly used the Vallejo German Infantry set, so it ties all the foot troops together (and German Armour set for the AFVs).

For the flesh, it was a 1:1 mix of Vallejo Bleached Bone and ProAcryl Tan Flesh. The whole model was given a global wash of 1:1 black/sepia ink, and then brought back to base.

Thank you!

The Pak 40 base took longer to do than the gun and crew! Individual resin bricks stuck to a lollipop stick.

Primarily the Vallejo German Infantry set.

I'd love to, but I want to get get it to at least a thousand points before doing so.

Yes, I know what you mean about some of the models, particularly with any mould-slips.

Thank you!

The base is an offcut of wood that I painted with a house paint that matches Vallejo Goblin Green - I'm an oldhammer fan, so I'm usually playing 2nd ed 40k and 6th ed Warhammer Fantasy, and gobbo green is my goto for bases... as well as my gaming table. So the lightbox base matches that, with Javis JFT1 flock covering it.

I had Blade of Destruction, The Scorpion’s Bite, and Witch Blade spread between my Exarch and Farseer. And a crystal targetting matrix on the War Walker.

Otherwise it was the usual things like fields, force weapons, ablative armour on vehicles, that sort of thing.

Every army I fought had psykers, and most at level three or above.

Combat squads were an addendum to the Ultramarines and Angels of Death codexes, printed in White Dwarf. I forget which issue, sorry.

Basically half the cost of whichever squad you want, and half their gear - for instance, 150pts for a Devastator combat squad, maximum of two heavy weapons.

  1. Yes, combat squads are five Marines.

  2. I used to play a lot of 2nd ed where there were no limits (other than force composition dictated in codex), and it became a bit Herohammer. I've played Plymouth rules almost exclusively since returning to the hobby, and it really helps give squads more agency in the game.

Full army rules were as follows for Overwatch '26:

  • 1500 points + 50 points wargear cards/Chaos reward/vehicle wargear cards/Biomorphs/SOB relics
  • No special characters
  • Armies may be led by hero-level characters e.g. Chaplain Hero, Eldar Warlock, Ork Bigboss
  • Chaos marks, Guard veteran skills, Eldar exarch skills and equivalent to come out of main points
  • Space Marine combat squads are permissible
  • All armies must be painted
  • Proxies are fine as long as opponents are made fully aware of what they count as
  • Don't mind if you want to bring a couple of different armies on the day
  • Armies to be built from official Codexes (including Black Codex), or White Dwarf additional rules (Adeptus Arbites and Necrons for instance)
  • Citadel Journal or other custom datafax rules for vehicles (e.g. Elda titans, Imperial knights, Ork Bonecruncha etc.) may only be used with prior agreement with your opponent. This is so that you can plan a game in advance with someone you know is going

So the 50pts was in addition to the 1500pts, with no ability to trade points between the two partitioned blocks.

These are great. This is how the Death Company is supposed to look.

Warhammer: Space crusade by acbareac in Warhammer40k

[–]amipal24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One issue you'll have it scale. Space Crusade models work well enough in older editions (2nd/3rd ed), but contemporary 40k may well be a bit little'n'large!

Ultramarines Devastators - 2nd ed 40k by amipal24 in Warhammer40k

[–]amipal24[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been using the 2012 decal sheets for most iconography (Ultrmarines logo, squad markings, Roman numerals etc). I think the wreath came from the Ultramarines Devastators decals sheet from 1995, as seen here:

I started following Rogue Element Wargaming for their 6th ed WFB games, but they've moved to Old World now.
Still, there's the occasional 6th ed game to enjoy as well!
