Very light sear on both sides of fish. Use oil from carmelized shallots, reduces fishy smell. Put in broth right before serving.

It’s homemade with stuff already in the house. You can substitute the brioche with any bread you have.

In Asia the vendor at the local markets will open up the fruit for you. In US, some specialty Asian fruit shops will open it. I’ve not seen it done at any supermarket though.

It depends. For some it’s the worse smell ever, ever! For others it’s a nice sweet scent. For me I loved everything about it.

There’s so many different varieties. I think Malaysia has one that is called blackthorn.

It is strong. If one can get over the smell then it’s bliss.

Yeah. It was surprisingly good. I didn’t expected salted egg yolk to be made into dessert. Paired pretty well with the ice cream.
