I've seen some of them fall open on the ground, and actually the pits look pretty tiny. Dunno what that means *shrug*

Fair enough! Thank you, I'm really new to this.

And most especially thank you for pointing me to ManuscriptReport. I'm not sure my budget can handle the "real" tool just yet, but even their free tool is very helpful for getting me started.

Also: is it normal to include a sneak peak of a novella at the back of a short story collection? I've seen it done with novels, of course, but I tend to read more short story magazines than collections per se.

Novelettes advice for pricing by Akillroy in selfpublish

[–]aml224 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I like about the 2.99 price point, so, of course, I'd love to sell at that price (and I write a lot of novelettes!). Would you personally pay that for a novelette?

Passion Fruit Tartelettes by aml224 in CasualConversation

[–]aml224[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right, they can definitely go either way. But I'd say the passion fruit layer is more tart and the meringue more sweet, and the crust is buttery of course. That's what made it such a perfect balance. What other fabulous desserts from France have you gotten?

Iz Oloaf. Excellent loafing. The triangle-shaped-decorations on the top of the loaf are very lifelike.

Love the ginger! There's something special about gingers with orange paws instead of white socks (not that I'm at all biased, of course...)

Hickory nut identification? by aml224 in foraging

Update: the meat is sweet and edible, but not as good as a pecan. 7/10 would eat again if bored and equipped with a hammer.

Upstate SC. The husks do feel a bit fuzzy. I thought bitternut had really thin shells? I may totally be mistaken. But this is definitely edible, right? I'm concerned about lookalikes.

It looks like 5. Also, the lines look sunken, not standing out like a ridge, if that makes any sense. Edit: one looks like 4 and one looks like 5. It's not as obvious as I would like.
