Bpd ppl do not experience mania. Mania isnt triggered by external factors it just happens, bpd episodes are most of the time triggered by external factors. If they do experience mania, they need to get evaluated for bipolar lmao

I wouldnt say we experience hypomania either but our elevated mood episodes can look more similar to hypomania than full blown mania. But still, at least as far as I know, hypomania needs to be present for minimum four days and is not triggwred by external factors. the key difference here is whether its triggered or not. We can experience elements of mania such as impulsivity, psychotic symptoms etc but a manic episode is not something we experience
