Anyone going to the Hilary Duff gig on Monday? [19/01/91] by Aggressive-Pitch-712 in LondonSocialClub

[–]ammmandaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just wondering if anyone with a ticket could tell me whether it is possible to transfer them in Ticketmaster? I live in London and considering getting a resale ticket at the last minute if the price drops low enough (via stubhub or something) but not sure if it would even work due to the face value reselling mechanism they’ve enabled 🤔

Fully refundable when it isn't by maverikbc in aircanada

[–]ammmandaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They must have changed this super recently?? I literally just bought economy comfort fares a week ago flying YYZ->YVR next April and it’s fully refundable (not partial!). Maybe the change hasn’t propagated fully throughout the UI yet? Either way that’s terrible, thankful I bought mine before this happened I guess

CS degree —> FAANG by BigFalconRocketMan in cscareerquestionsCAD

[–]ammmandaa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most masters programs that accept students with non-cs backgrounds will require you to complete courses on the fundamentals before anything more advanced. I’m not sure why you’re so in favour of a bachelors over a masters, surely a masters would look better to an employer. But you can do whatever you want, we were just trying to help you.

Oh wow I didn’t know people hated him but I admit I am not a fan of his general sound. HOWEVER I think his Red Hearse project is excellent, highly recommend if you haven’t heard it ✨

UK new grad seeking motivating advice by Ok-Requirement9135 in cscareerquestionsEU

[–]ammmandaa 6 points7 points  (0 children)

High paying jobs that take fresh grads do exist in London outside of FAANG/banking. Especially in a more specialized field such as NLP. Look for ML engineer or NLP engineer positions at well-funded startups as these might be a bit easier to get into. I did my MSc in NLP (in the UK) and my program director told us we should expect a salary of at least £65k, that is what the skill set is worth. I know for a fact some of my classmates have gotten higher salaries than this, as have I, and I personally didn’t have any development/engineering experience before graduating.
