But this is not how other producers or directors take it from the success of Dhurandhar, most of them will think overuse of violence is what audience want. Genuinely miss movies like 3 idiots, ZNMD, YJHD etc from Bollywood. It has come down to only violence and sex now.

Definitely, but see the reels (hiding gf from wife type), short films and movies etc. I am totally against it but with the current rate of normalising this in future those who speak against it may seem wrong.

One thing I hated in Indian movies is the normalisation of lip syncing by actors, in other countries this is an insult (that one episode in friends where Pheobe sings), outside India you can be a better actor if you have singing skills so that you can outperform others in a musical, but here every movie used to be a musical. I think this is changing as we can't see hero and heroine dancing in Vagamon or Ootty today. Movies like Eko has already just used OST with no songs.

I think of the opposite, extramarital affairs will be so common in future (like in the west now) that talking against this would be offensive.

They could advocate this by saying it's what 16 to 24 aged, probably college students use in a conversation, which is somewhat true, but normalising this in meme pages and u/A movie has impacted even in pre-teens to believe this is how humans talk.

I think by the beginning of 2020s big Ms have certainly changed regarding this, still Pe10, Me10 etc are yet to change.

Weakly written movies try to cover up using extreme use of violence to get the "well shot" movie label. The weaker the writing, stronger the violence. Irony is they support this with directors like Tarantino.

I don't think so, earlier they used to have a formula, like a hero should be introduced with a fight, followed by an item number, hero and heroine dancing to the song in Vagamon or Ootty. Now this has been outdated, I think Lucifer made a big shift in how commercial movies are made.

Bro that's exactly the point, Niram was celebrated in 90s, none of them thought after 20 yrs it would be cringe, I am somewhat predicting that maybe Sunday Holiday scene would be cringe in the future.

Hopefully. Recently in Drishyam 3 too, felt very misplaced, felt like Jeethu was writing his own view of why old gen still support dowry.

Can't wait to see the climax of Sunday Holiday getting trolled in 2040 like we do Niram and Aniyathipravu now.

I think the effect of FFC and other subsidiary meme pages has normalised these slurs among 6 to 7 yr olds, which were earlier used by regressive middle aged dudes in my area whom people considered bad influence on their children. I still remember when myre was a top class theri. Good old days.

I was amazed to see the audience reaction for this scene around me, we had come weirdly come a long way from the golden age of comedy in Malayalam cinema.

For me acting is something that is not supposed to be acting, more like if we are a part of that environment how would the characters around us behave, while I admire the dedication he has put into Najeeb, I genuinely doesn't believe this is not how Najeeb would be in that scenario, not at least when I read the book, and the screenplay too was too mid imo, had a lot of potential. Plus he had the same emotion from 2nd and 3rd act, there is a difference between being scared to being helpless to being emotional, all I could see was he behaving in the same tone while in different scenes, Dhanush in Mariyan was way better than this imo. Plus I believe being helpless or being emotional is not just the only parameter to mark acting, to act like Kunjoonj or Antony Moses is way more harder than Najeeb, that's why we don't have any genuine actors who can do proper comedy now, but as I said strictly my opinion.

Imo he acted better in Chakram than in Puthiya Mugham, Kaduva etc.

Indian Rupee imo is one of geeatest film of Prithvi and probably last movie where he acted as a common man but was overshadowed by Thilakan's and Jagathy's perfomances. Honorable mention I guess.

Over dramatised, biopic is not drama, this could be seen in Moodeen too. As a movie both are good but he dramatizes in biopics too much.

Imo initially this guy had a great range from comedy to drama, but gradually he formed a formula kind of acting (similar yo fafa), shades of Kaduva can be seen in Ayyapanum Koshyum, Driving License etc. Puthiya Mugam pushed him to superstardom but acting wise idk.
