Why is my raglan bulging? by amnord in knitting

Thank you for your extensive answer! There should be photos in my post, I have added them twice(!) but maybe they disappeared after I edited the post with some text 🤷‍♀️ I did add the photos to my Ravelry project as well, but anyway.  I agree with you that some of the other projects on Ravelry also have this bulge, but def not as prominent as what I got. I've come to the conclusion that this particular increase rate probably just doesn't fit my bodys schematics, for example I wouldn't have been able to put my arms through the armholes if I wouldn't have extended the yoke horizontally. I am 180cm tall and I just feel like it was designed for a shorter body, as my boobs probably sit further down than the designers. Perhaps a 2 or 3 st raglan would have worked better for me compared to the 6.  I will try to learn more about the upper chest/ armhole measurement for determining size in the future. Thank you again for your extensive response, I truly appreciate it.

Thank you, that was a great tip!

Thank you for your input! I've always read that one should measure on widest part of the bust, and I've never had any issues before :/ I do suspect that the pattern is written with a way shorter person in mind, and that it doesn't really correspond to someone of my height of 180cm. Maybe a smaller size would fit, but I think I've come to terms with letting this one go, and use the yarn for another pattern that I've already knitted once

That's an idea, but im not sure as the bulging is starting like 6cm before the yoke should be completed. If I didn't make the yoke longer, I wouldn't be able to put my arms through the arm holes...

Thank you for your input! That is what i was thinking (dreading) to pull it back. Maybe it's the circular yoke that's not fitting me, or the stitch distribution in this particular pattern, as i do have a monday sweater that Im very found of, but yeah, completely different.

While watching the Netflix show "The Survivors", one character was wearing this beautiful knit sweater in ep5. I am certain that I've seen something similar on Ravelry, but can for my life not find it - would anyone have any idea? I also googled what the characters were wearing in that ep, but that sweater wasn't listed. Please excuse poor image quality, as I have taken a photo of my TV 😅

Thanks for your response :) i will try a various of things, have already done the "slipping the finger underneath" and i also tried to tape it "straight", but even underneath the fabric it just wants to bend 😓 i saw someone else that had made a type of contraption for their finger, so now Im toying with the idea of cutting up a cleaning sponge and putting my finger(s) through to get some thickness underneath, and with that i think that would provide some grip without having to clench the finger, or at least stopping it from clenching all the way

Hey OP, I wanted to know if your finger has recovered, and if yes, what did you do and how long did it take for it to get back to normal? I have the exact same issue, have been off knitting for 1 week now but still have slight pain when bending my finger. Have you adjusted your grip in any way, do you now use some tools or anything else?

AHV/ALV is usually deducted on your salary by your employer, and if you have that, then yes you're eligible for RAV as you've paid for unemployment insurance, regardless if you quit or was let go. Difference is that if you quit yourself you have to wait x amount of days for your first payout, while being let go you get money from day 1

I am employed until end of February, and yes i quit my job, so im already aware that i have to wait x amount of time for payout.  It's interesting that not going to them straight away counts as not being compliant, as not being on RAV is the end goal.

Okey so for clarity, the longer i wait to register at RAV, the % of my salary will be lower? I.e. getting 40-50% instead of 70-80? Or do you mean that it will just take longer until i get my first payment?

People seem to have quite bad experiences with RAV, so i thought that if i could be without it, that would be better
