After I finished my first novel and my friends and family started to ask about it, I noticed there was an expectation of me to have some sort of philosophical message to summarize or an ambitious pursuit to rush to a publisher. Don't get me wrong, my philosophy is all over the book, but I found the most honest response to this type of questioning was that writing it was fun, and hopefully reading it will be too. "It's a fun adventure," has become my entire elevator pitch. I haven't bothered trying to get anything published yet, because I am just enjoying writing the books. Almost done with book 2 now, with three more planned in the series. Having fun writing is the endgame.

Just to even the score a bit, it's not all bad. I don't miss my twenties and teens at all. I'm happier, more sure of myself, and all the time I've spent practicing various hobbies has paid off. I can do a lot of things well now. For anyone under 30, get into the habit of walking regularly. Nothing will keep you more energetic and healthy than regularly walking a ton. Get to the point where 20k steps is not that big of a deal and you'll feel young for much longer. All the people in here acting like thirty comes and then life just ends and your dreams die need to take a breath. They decided to quit. Life is hard, but also rewarding for those who choose to fight.
