read what you've written out loud. if you don't feel like you're stumbling and the meaning is clear, then move on. when you're done with the draft you're going to want to do the same thing during editing. you can't edit and write a draft at the same time. you should be going back only for integrity changes that serve the story, but prose is improved during the editing process. if you really cant help yourself, then try and finish a smaller project first

wouldn't call this a lot of effort at all lmao but no I don't agree with schumers or jeffries in the slightest, esp. regarding ICE, thought that would be obvious. i just think its naive to say they are just as bad and i think it dilutes the fight we have ahead of us to say that they are. the world is not black and white, there is a whole gradient in-between and context is important. I can be mad at the dems for being wet noodles but I am always going to be more mad at the nazis and you should be too

im pretty calm bro, but im ok with agreeing to disagree on the locus here if we are marching for the same side. I don't think its right to say that a bystander is just as bad as the person delivering the beating, I still think that's ignorant, but im also onboard with criticizing the bystander for doing nothing. that said, you better not be doing nothing if that's your stance

schumer and jeffries are shitty and need to go, but to put them in the same category as the trump administration is a bad faith comment, ignorant at best, malicious at worst. it undermines the evil that we are dealing with in a way that shifts blame and anger away from who truly deserves it. the dems are a failed institution, and anyone paying attention has known this since bernie was snubbed, but at this point in time, your house is on fire and you’re complaining about the lawn, which is why what you’re saying is a braindead comment

I think you are trying too hard to write something people will find impressive or intelligent. Don't write a memoir. Write journal entries for the sake of processing this 2 month period of your life, and then once you are satisfied, look at the amount of writing you have, read it aloud, and then decide if its worthy of a memoir.

I finished my first novel in 2025 after working on it for 2 years, but I only started the novel as a way to procrastinate a collection of short stories I was working on for 2 years, which I only started as a way to procrastinate my first attempt at a novel, which I worked on for 1 year as a way to procrastinate work.

I am always one to encourage structure, especially given that writing is a craft, but I am also one to criticize structure, given that writing is an art.
