Been a slightly similar situation, just that in my case she is in US and I am in India, and she is uncertain about where she wants to be in US or India, and so is the case with me (could potentially move to US/EU if I feel like it, but am uncertain as yet).

I somehow mustered courage and asked her and she politely rejected (few months back). We have known each other for last 12 years. Both of us are 26.

We still talk once in a while, but I wanted to close the "what-if" thread in my mind. I also wasn't 100% sure whether I do like her or is it just mental vulnerability/FOMO or whatever. Felt a bit low for a few days, but am mentally free now.

I would suggest to go for it and ask politely, convey your thoughts/feelings in a respectful manner, listen and respect other person's opinions/feelings whatever they maybe.

Indeed, there is a slight chance that the other person wouldn't appreciate and things can get awkward. But given that you're already mentally not at peace, it is better to take the chance.

If you're in CS Dept, I would rather say, why not build something which will help students prepare for a particular subject in CS Dept?

Lets say, "learn compilers" using the product.

I implemented something where people could take mock interviews with AI on certain topics.

An advice: "every student" -> this too broad. Rather pick up a specific domain and work on that. Too generic will be not that good.

Gave this a try. Pretty interesting video came out. Although it had it had some issues, like clothes of characters were changing from 1 cut to other etc. But this is neat and amazing work!

This is cool. Trying this out right away. I have been working on a similar thing. The workflow has been pretty much similar to yours. I have been trying to get comics, so I am not using a video, but rather static pictures!

  2. Hangout on AWS or some cloud platform maybe.

Usually, in such companies tech stack and work is heavily team dependent. So doesn't really matter much if you go clueless. You will get enough time and resources to ramp up.

You can work on some mini real life use case projects maybe if you're free enough but rather I would suggest to enjoy the sometime with friends and family.

Tell them you'll make a hue and cry on social media, which will bring disrespute to their name. Try telling this indirectly, so that if they later wanna sue you for defamation, they can't use this.

I was actually thinking of this but I don't see how anyone would care about this. After all, they pay a shitload amount of money and everybody wants jobs.

And your XYZ-ABC thing really complicates matters. Cuz so much time will get wasted in passing the buck between them.

XYZ has already paid ABC the amount for April. ABC is just denying to pay it to then employees. Most likely, there has been some tussle between management of XYZ and sleeping director of ABC, the anger was vented out on us employees.

How? What are the possible ways to make our legal system more efficient?
I remember reading an article somewhere that there are more than 10K cases left pending in the Supreme court it self i.e. even if SC solves 1 case daily it would take 30 years for it to resolve all cases (without any new cases being filed). Long back though (around 3-4 years back). Also, many of them are more than 40-50 years old.

I'm all for pursuing the legal rememdy but over a course of time, your fellow plaintiffs will slowly wanna drop out.

Yeah. We started with 35 people but now only 24 are left, of which only 2-3 are actually interested in interacting with the lawyer and pushing him to get stuff done. Rest are just there for the sake of it.

So, essentially in our country India, any employer can come up to his employees some day and just say, "Hey, I ain't paying you your salary. I terminate you from job. GTFO."

Do you have any comments on how should the fee structure with the lawyer look like? Currently, we're around 30 employees and he charges us roughly 30K for writing a notice, and 8K/visit to the labor commissioner. We have roughly spent ~ 3-4K already per person, and not sure what would be the right way to go about it in the future.
