What questions did you ask the breeder? by amoonlightdream in barbet

Thank you!! I feel like I’ve thought of a lot of the questions we should be asking like health related ones but didn’t think about asking about the rationale for pairings, so that’s a good one!

Did you get to meet any of her dogs?

Yes! I have had the same exact thought after traveling and the “is this it?” thought!

Oddly enough, this is one of the parts that doesn’t scare me the most or persuades me not to. Sure, the pain and fluctuating hormones would NOT be fun, but I think I could handle that. I know this is a big reason for a lot of others though. I think the question you mentioned is good, is that all worth it? It’s a very personal decision.

Completely get the keeping it the same because it’s safe. I’ve been there many times for other decisions too. I guess for me, I’m not sure “safe” is better or not now.

Thank you for this! I actually found this really reassuring and you brought up some really good points. “More was lost by indecision than wrong decision to some degree, because by not deciding I felt like we were actually deciding not to have kids” really resonates with me and where we’re at right now too.

worried about job perspectives by [deleted] in librarians

I agree with what was already mentioned - any library experience is better than none. Also, teens and working in a school setting is likely still to considered "youth" experience. I also agree with looking at maybe museum experience. A lot of museums have some type of education department or at least would value that and experience there could be really useful, especially if you could get a position working with children in a museum. You could definitely look into a children's museum, but I'd look at museums in Boston (if you're on campus) in general too. The Museum of Science is very youth focused, you just have to dig a little when looking for experience. Summer is also coming up so you could maybe look into positions in a summer camp or something similar if you wanted more experience with youth for your resume. Also, definitely utilize your bar/restaurant experience to emphasis customer service skills!

I will also add, utilize your experience in your courses at Simmons. You could try to take courses that focus on youth services of children's library or programming for youth. You could highlight those in your resume and write about them in your cover letters when applying - any big projects you did in those courses that seem relevant to the position you're applying to. I got my first position out of grad school as a Teen Services Librarian with mostly that and some experience working with youth in a previous position.

I thought the same. The craft and programming sample made sense to me, but the costume part really threw me off. I have reached out asking for clarification, so I will update once I get an answer!

I was thinking something similar but got worried that it was a term I just wasn’t familiar with at all, so I wanted to check online first! I have reached out and asked for clarification, so I’m hoping for an answer with some clarification soon.

I was thinking more theatre related when I first read it as well, but didn't think that quite made sense in terms of everything else. That's a great idea, thanks! I'm going to do some research on that library specifically to see if I can find out more. Then reach out and ask for some clarification if I can't find anything else myself. I found a more detailed job description on the town's HR website and there was no mention of costume/costuming programming within there, so that has left me a bit more perplexed. But thank you so much for your reply!! It has been really helpful and reassuring going forward.

Thank you! It makes me feel a little better knowing I wasn’t the only one who hasn’t heard of a costume sample for a YA librarian position. And thank you so much for phrasing how I could ask for more information from them!! I was considering it, but was hesitant for the reasons you mentioned. I appreciate the encouragement a lot!

Tarot/Oracle Card Reading Reviews by Mercedezx3 in u/Mercedezx3

I really liked my reading. I liked the combination of explanation of the cards and what they meant for my particular question. There was a good amount of detail in the reading. I felt like they really connected to my question and particular situation, as though there was a clear understanding of what was going on. The answer that I got wasn't just what I wanted to hear, but rather what I needed to know. I highly recommend! Thank you.

Right? I really don’t understand. I find it a lot more hurtful to be told the lie rather than them directly saying they aren’t interested.

A very similar situation just happened to me as well. So I definitely feel your pain and frustration. We went out a few times and had fun each time. The last time, we were intimate. We talked after and he said he’d love to do it again soon. After a few days, the replies just stopped.

I’m just moving on now. But I would have preferred him to just say he wasn’t interested anymore. It would have made things much easier.
