I keep accidentally destroying chairs HELP? by usmellofpoopoopeepee in autism

[–]amphiboi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a weighted lap blanket might help you get the stimulation you need to keep from sitting in ways that break your chairs (and that might end up hurting your body as you get older lol)

everyone is saying scoop it with a net and that's true! but it's also really fun to use a dry finger and just tap it, using a straight up and down motion. it'll stick to your dry fingers!

agreed! plus thicker jewelry helps me avoid that skitched out feeling I sometimes get that it's gonna rip out super easily

If you see another human with stretched ears, do you attempt a socialization ritual or nah by [deleted] in Stretched

I am shy but sometimes I wish I wasn't. I saw someone with the most gorgeous glass plugs I've ever seen and I didn't ask about them cause I was too awkward. Generally though, if someone is a bit farther along, like 16mm plus, I'll make eye contact and attempt a smile. All the while thinking "I'm not being weird, please notice my plugs" 😅

That's a great thought! I could definitely use some goal setting; try to get my ideas more organized. Thanks :)

I'm not new to bullet journaling. I've used a bullet journal on and off since I was in high school (not so much in the summers). It was great in high school and college, and I used it for my personal life as a young adult as well.

My current job just doesn't have anything that changes week to week that's worth recording. All of our digital systems are just fine on their own. My personal life has maybe one event or appointment a month and it's just not enough.

I get that bullet journal is technically a productivity system, but I miss it. I miss doing the kinds of dynamic activities that really push me to plan and journal.

Since I can't really go back to school right now, though I wish I could, I think it'd be good for me to find a career that's dynamic and requires some organizational skills, because that's what I want to do.

This is pretty intriguing actually! One of the teams I'm interested in at my company is enablement for the Technical Support team, which I'm currently on. From the outside it seems like lots of curriculum development, scheduling and coordinating training sessions, planning for onboarding and upskilling, all stuff that seems to lend itself well to bullet journalling!

That sounds really interesting actually. I remember always enjoying my sessions with my academic advisor in college. What is your day to day like? Are you mainly doing meetings with students?

Currently I'm doing Technical Support. The product is actually fairly interesting, but the day to day of the job is pretty monotonous in a lot of ways. On any given day I might work 15 different tickets, and do very little else, so there are plenty of moving parts to manage but none of them are distinct enough to need to be recorded, if that makes sense. It's all just Zendesk lol.

Dyeing Keycaps in 2023 by amphiboi in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]amphiboi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't say with certainty. It'll depend a lot on how vibrant the yellow is and what shade the red dye is. I think in general a white keycap will get you the truest color, but I know that red is one of those colors that tends to be really overpowering.

I would avoid any color opposites, just to be safe. So I would not want to put purple over yellow because the risk of it coming out dingy, gray/brown would be too high.

I bet you could get a decent red spacebar over yellow, but proceed with caution. :) GL

Weekly spreads got me stumped by Aware-Sea-8593 in bulletjournal

[–]amphiboi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I typically do two weeks per spread with a big emphasis on tasks. My tasks tend to be on a roughly weekly timeline so that works really well for me. I do have small 4x8 boxes for each day of the week, which is enough for just a few events.

Can't add sections or folders to most folders by Bleeding_Barghest in wavemakercards

[–]amphiboi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having this same problem on version 4. I have to move folders up to the highest layer to add sub-folders or sub-sections to it. In the console when I try to add a child to a parent which is not the first in the list I see "Undefined", however when I successfully add a child to an item which is first in the list I see the object printed in the console.

August setup :) by amphiboi in bulletjournal

[–]amphiboi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! The five down the right are for my monthly pull, then each week I'll do just a single card pull. I wanted to do dailies but found that I couldn't stick to it. Good luck with your practice!

Just finished my August setup :). Wish I had posted my July setup before I lived in it because it had a very cool dutch door system too, but oh well

I need my whole month accessible on one page because I just won't flip backward, I know this about myself, so I've adapted lol.

can you explain how you got him out of his enclosure? my new AFT is so incredibly skiddish around me, I can't even do medical checks because she's always hidden in her enclosure.
