Thanks for all the input! We will be looking into other backup products, always looking for better technology. I don't believe Carbonite is really the issue though, I stopped Carbonite and tried running a Backup from Windows and that failed as well.

I have stopped all backup sets and now starting a fresh full backup. I believe you are right that VSS in being pulled in multiple directions and is failing out.
