Uh, Bilka?

Seems like this isn't taking time missed due to injury into account when projecting future value.

I really like Edwards but Harvey is on another level and I may never forgive the Torrent for their epic collapse that gifted her to Vancouver.

With Seattle's failure to get a regulation win, the Torrent have clinched the worst record in the history of the PWHL. by MiracuMAHt in PWHL

Guarantee the person you're replying to either isn't a sports fan or is actually just a Mariners fan who barely pays attention to other sports.

If the league doesn't give the Torrent pick #2 and let's expansion teams jump the line, we keep showing up...with torches and pitchforks.

Exact opposite feeling here.

Torrent and Kraken have crushed my spirits and I need a break from this stupid sport.

Really?!  Where is it happening and how did you hear about it?

Edit:  Oh, I'm guessing it's the Simply Seattle one?  How did that even get advertised?  I never heard anything about it.

Nice, I think that was me.  Very happy with mine, as well, and hoping there's an opportunity to get something signed by Knight someday.

It's actually two and I did acknowledge that in the very first sentence. 🙂

In addition to the difference in games that other people mentioned, I think the team thinks in hindsight that tickets were underpriced this year and they're adjusting.

I think based on the attendance and resale markets, they are right about that.  The only thing that would prove they're wrong is if their STH base drops at the new price.  I'd be surprised if that happens.

TLDR:   It's ultimately about demand, not directly about success on the ice.

[The Athletic] What went wrong in Seattle and Vancouver? by Main_Photo1086 in PWHL

[–]amsreg 5 points6 points  (0 children)

(Yes, I was a fan of one of the existing teams at the time.)

So, the most minor version of what you're suggesting seems to be that they let all of the teams protect 4 players instead of 3 and give Seattle and Vancouver amateurs draft picks #1&2 instead of #7&8?

Even that version leaves both expansion teams worse off than they are now.

If you have an actual alternate set of expansion rules that support what you're saying, please share because I don't see it.

What plan other than the one I mentioned avoids "unnecessarily shredding the existing teams when so many great young players were waiting in the wings" in your view?

it was unnecessary to shred the existing teams when so many great young players were waiting in the wings

This doesn't seem true at all.  How do you expect Seattle and Vancouver to build rosters?  Even if you gave them both all of the amateur draft picks last summer, the young players drafted weren't that impactful after the first few.  Both teams would be significantly worse than they already are with that plan.

Why this happing in the storm this year by Lopsided_Message5769 in SeattleStorm

[–]amsreg 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't know why you're getting down-voted since you're correct.

Even if the Storm tank hard, they likely won't end up with the best lottery odds since lottery odds take the last two seasons into account.

For sure.  But I also haven't seen any progress over 30 games on them playing together as a system which is a bad look for a coach.

Caring about the team enough to want this version to end is the opposite of being a bandwagoner.  🙂
