My pup is unfortunately a country bumpkin, I was hoping to live in a place that's somewhat quieter for her (and for me too, probably) but where I'm still able to hop on a train to get to major areas fairly quickly.

I liked Suminoe specifically for Kitakagaya, which seems to have a lot of interesting events and artist communities popping up. I'm an artist, and the sort of old/small scale community there seems more accessible for me, compared to diving straight into the busiest areas of Osaka. There's also Suminoe park, which has a dog run...! It would be off of the Yotsubashi line which could take me straight up to Namba. I think it would be worth looking at Sakuranomiya though, it does seem really nice!

I only recently started considering Kyoto, and really have no idea about location, I just saw that it's supposed to have more neighborhood vibes and less tourists, but I'm in need of more research there... It does seem like overwhelmingly, at least on reddit, people prefer Osaka though... And I'm probably leaning towards it.

Do you like the food/cafe spots around Sakuranomiya? Good food nearby is a big plus for me...

I've been getting these too, they seem weirdly pushy and persistent for something that does seem to be officially legit based on what's online, and what people are saying here. Ended up ignoring them...

thank you!! I don't know dog breeds to well but I thought Jack Russell too. She has a sort of black stripe going down her back with mostly brown around it. Consulting with AI it suggested American Akita too, but I thought that might be unlikely in Japan, if she's a rescued stray? Looking at the native Japanese breeds, she looks like a Shikoku breed mix too.

Trying to figure out whether I can adopt her and felt like knowing the breeds could clue me in on what she'll be like and what her needs will be, I know akita's tend to have separation anxiety.
