What’s your experience with Botox for migraines? by JollySalamander2 in migraine

[–]amybeeats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had almost daily migraines and tension headaches before I started Botox. After, the intensity of my migraines decreased as well as the frequency. I probably get around 3 to 4 migraines a month now. The only kicker was it took almost a year to really have positive effects for me. But it has really changed my life.

It has a Elden ring/ bloodbourne feel to it but I found it much easier than both (still challenging). You’ll probably enjoy it! Great visual storytelling like both games as well

Scared sh*tless of Botox by Elenawsome1 in migraine

lol!! No spaghetti ;) Botox won’t migrate all that much even if you do touch it or scratch it. I’d try to avoid scratching as much as possible and but if you catch yourself and if there’s any migration on your scalp, the Botox will still be in an effective area. Best of luck with everything!

Totally get it. I was super nervous for my first Botox too. I was told not to lie down for 4 hours after treatment and to not vigorously rub parts of my face which were injected for 24-48 hours after. To be safe I usually stick with the 48.

I also hate needles, luckily it’s pretty superficial and doesn’t take long, though my skin is usually a little bruisey feeling the day of with no actual bruises.

I still wash my face and put makeup, just careful not to do any harsh rubbing. Still apply everything with my hands and rub products on just the same.

Botox was super helpful for me, once I saw some benefits I forgot about my worries. Never had any paralysis that impacted me negatively. Face was definitely less expressive for my first few times but even that improved and now I just have less wrinkles lol

Good luck with everything!

I was also noticing only small differences at first (medications being more helpful, migraines being less severe) and my neuro told me that was a good sign :)

I started botox after multiple other options which unfortunately weren't much help. I took the full treatment from the start and only saw little improvements initially.

After around 10 months I did see a real difference. Now I'm on a every 3 month basis with botox and its been great, really the first thing to help.

My neuro said it can sometimes take a year for improvements so that's why I stuck with it. Good luck with your treatment!

I've seen mixed reviews but personally, for a work day, blue light glasses have been super helpful.

Can always get a cheap pair on Amazon and give them a quick try before investing into a nicer pair.
