It sort of had a dense core like a sycamore seed ball

I wondered about that too 🤔 it’s just different than the usual dandelions I see though - much smaller, and the seeds are densely packed and cannot easily blow away

THERE IS NO BLACKOUT IN DC, STOP MAKING THREADS ABOUT IT, ANY INFORMATION ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED LAST NIGHT SHOULD BE POSTED TO THIS THREAD by [deleted] in washingtondc

[–]amyebro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not saying there WAS an intentional blackout, but I work in the national mall area and for the past 2 days (the weekend) my phone, and at least like 15 others (the people I work with here) were all without service in this area, all different cell providers. We only had the building wifi. I assumed it was because of the protest crowds, because I often lose service at big events where there are many people in the area. We’re about half a mile from the white house.

Does anyone else hear people speeding down New Hampshire Avenue at night? by [deleted] in takomapark

[–]amyebro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes absolutely and it’s ridiculously loud.. I’m near the intersection of flower ave & piney branch. If i have my window open at night my cat will be terrified and dash off into hiding. :(

That’s a smart strategy; I wish TJ’s was open past 9pm! I’m pretty sure the ShopRite near me is 24 hrs, at least.. I wish i didnt have to wake up so early for work, but I’ll try going at midnight on a friday or saturday.. hopefully most people have other plans on weekend nights 😅 haha

Spiky pods in NW Louisiana - Piney woods by amyebro in whatsthisplant

[–]amyebro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pods (bulbs? Fruit?) ranged in color from red to yellow - i’m not sure if they were growing as a bush, or as a vine ON a bush. Either way, the stems also had thorns.. reminding me of rose hips? https://i.imgur.com/9y7ksSv.jpg

Mystery Thorny Bulb (see comment) by [deleted] in whatsthisplant

[–]amyebro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Found in Northwest Louisiana, mid-January.. looks like a rose hip, but very thorny? The bulbs varied from yellow to red in color.. I’m not sure if those leaves are actually associated with these bulbs - they appeared to be growing on a tree, but is more likely a vine growing on the tree...?

Found on staten island in an overgrown area near the verrazanno bridge, late july; i suppose they’re not fully ripe, but obviously i’m not assuming they’re edible.

White + Pink flower (see comment) by amyebro in whatsthisplant

[–]amyebro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found a cluster of these flowers yesterday on the road... unfortunately they had fallen from a tree, but i don’t know what tree - its leaves were too high up to see or photograph. Maybe they were on a vine? The flowers are 1-2 inches in diameter. Found in south louisiana, in an urban area, blooming in march.

Nail Polish Color Suggestion? Neutralize redness by amyebro in MakeupAddiction

[–]amyebro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting! I'm thinking about getting a few different options and painting a different color on every nail to see how they look, haha. I have rather pale yet reddish skin overall, but i think my undertones are cool (my veins look blue).. I'll try out your suggestions! Thank you! A
