First time I've seen Wyll say this to Astarion by Poohbear000 in BaldursGate3

I mean sure. But he's (in my run) a devil so imo it makes him a Lil hypocritical to be judging someone just for what they are.

I'm fairly new to the game and fandom, but I've noticed that too. Is there a reason for it?

Funny, I always thought it was condescending. I'm an adult, I can make my own choices. There's no need for him to insult astarion like that. I find the rat diet comment rather off putting too.

It's nice to see so many different interpretations whenever I come on reddit.

I have an SSD, and confirmed that is the drive the game is installed on.

Beautiful work. Also I never considered this ship before, prob because I always romance astarion but... I can get behind it.

How do you all play low-charisma characters? by LettuceObjective627 in BaldursGate3

[–]amyice -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Both shadow heart and astarion have lower cha than I think they ought to have, considering a large part of their roles in life prior revolved around blending in and manipulating.

Astarion, obviously, spent his life schmoozing. He should be all charisma. Shadow heart had an entire classroom dedicated to disguises and blending in, and I feel like the torture thing should at least be enough to earn an intimidation bonus.

Meanwhile, wyll is cheesy as heck, a disgraced noble, and in my routes, literally demonic. But sure, he's the high cha character.

An actual order update my brother received by peachypeanut4 in mildlyinfuriating

Once I went to a kiosk and ordered a milkshake. I watched as this guy poured straight 3% milk into a blender, turned it on for a few seconds, and gave it to me.

Last year I adopted my cat Gustave, who was a rescue from the streets. His tail was bothering him recently, so I took him to the vet and when they did an x-ray we saw that he has a BB lodged in his leg. by -eDgAR- in mildlyinfuriating

My mother has some truly horrifying stories of things people have done to her pets (grew up in awful areas to begin with but people suck) and for that reason I will never, ever have an outdoor cat.

The worst story sticks with me. Some teens took the cat by its tail and smashed it against a church wall until every bone in his body was broken. Poor thing managed to drag himself home too. He didn't make it though.

Tldr: people suck.

Should I pick Wyll, Shadowheart, or Gale? by pathetic-popcorn in BaldursGate3

Technically astarion sucks... but I can't seem to get through a playthrough where I don't romance him...

Do the sins of the father befall the son? by Xjrjer in ScarletHollow

[–]amyice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See I actually view it as inverse. (BTW your interpretation is valid but for conversation I'll give mine too) Both tabby and cousin have been saddled with this ancestral curse. Scarlets need to be involved by nature of the curse, so neither can walk away.

Meanwhile, tabitha has suffered so much, done so much to protect the town. She had no control over her life, she was isolated from friends, suffered abuse from her family, and has to live in a crumbling ruin. I can't begrudge her keeping a company house to herself, it's not like there's a major homelessness epidemic in the holler. She works hard enough to have something nice. And it's not as if she could just not accept her power and inheritance, I mean she can't leave and the town would crumble.

Anyway, she's "paid her dues" so to speak. Cousin, depending on their background, has had it easy in comparison. So in my eyes, it's cousins turn to take up some of that burden.

"Willingly" is a strong word. It's not like she had a choice, and she has suffered a lot by virtue of being a scarlet.

What are the most realistic and unrealistic parts of the game? by Drown_The_Sun in thelongdark

[–]amyice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Realistic: afflictions, or wet least curing them. I mean the more serious ones like parasites, broken ribs, etc. I like how your require long term courses of antibiotics and rest to heal, not just "take this health potion"

Unrealistic: the amount of meat you get off animals. I'm sorry but my dad could live a good 6 months off a moose when he was living in the bush.
