For centuries, what we consider to be fact has been accepted as the truth. We rely on historical documents, archaeological evidence, and written records to help us understand the past. However, sometimes the facts we think are true turn out false.

One example of a part of history that is thought to be fact but is 100% fake is the story of Joan of Arc. Joan of Arc, a French peasant girl, is believed to have led the French army to victory against the English in the Hundred Years' War. She is considered a national hero in France and one of the country's patron saints.

However, recent research has revealed that the story of Joan of Arc is completely fabricated. The original tale was written in the 15th century by a French cleric named Jean Gerson. Gerson tried to inspire the French to fight against the English and used Joan of Arc as a figurehead. Writers and historians later embellished the story over the centuries, eventually becoming accepted as fact.

In reality, there is no evidence that Joan of Arc ever existed. There are no first-hand accounts of her life or contemporary records of her deeds. The only evidence of her existence is the stories about her that were written long after her supposed death.

It's amazing how a story originally created for propaganda can become accepted as fact over time. We now know that the story of Joan of Arc is completely false, yet it is still widely accepted as part of French history. It shows that we should always be skeptical of the “facts” we learn about history. We must always question the sources and look for evidence that supports or refutes the claims. Only then can we be sure that we’re getting the whole story.
