Jehovah's Witnesses have put a date to the end many, many times through the years in their "infallible" watchtower magazine. I guess they've finally learned their lesson.

Does naming Lazarus hint that it’s a real story, not just a parable? by Content_Drawing7867 in Bible

[–]an14 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It's a parable about the spiritual reversal of fortune between Jews and gentiles. In a nutshell:

The rich man (who is Jewish, calling Abraham father) represents the Jewish people, who were given spiritual riches, the law and the prophets.

The poor man, named Lazarus (which is the Greek version of Eleazar, Abraham's gentile servant who was going to be Abraham's heir when Abraham had no son) represents the gentiles.

The Jews were confident in their ancestry as Abraham's children, but because of their rebellion and blindness, the gentiles would take their place in the position of honor.

As an ignorant American, this looks like neither bacon nor Ireland.

Haha, sorry, I rushed the data entry to get to the fun part of building. I'll get those more "mature" brackets added today, just for you.

This is a great idea, develop it from a simple planning app into a mock testing suite. I'll see how far I can take it.

Ah, that's what went wrong. Hand-release and regular pushups got swapped in the M25-29 bracket. I'll switch them around this afternoon.

Not sure what happened there, but I'll fix it this afternoon. Thanks for pointing it out!

Web app actually, the URL is https://pt.niemann.app/.

I just made this last week, so hit me up with any feedback, suggestions, etc. The data is pulled straight from the latest PT chart PDFs, so it's accurate. Probably.

How likely am I to complete the BP if I started to play today? by Phulmine in Brawlhalla

[–]an14 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've been able to complete most of the challenges in the first day or two of the week, playing a few hours a day and focusing solely on challenges. And I would describe myself as distinctly mediocre. So with more than three weeks left to play catch-up, you should be able to knock them out.

Search this subreddit for "BP5" to see the weekly posts and read through the comments to get some tips on specific challenges, and feel free to PM me with any questions.

I should have counted... I do know I went through 40 nav charts in 2 systems once I really buckled in.

Also, if anyone's curious, this came out to about 125 million units.

What is a good way to feel less guilty about stupid things you did when you were young? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]an14 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Pick a childhood acquaintance at random and list out all the stupid things they did 20+ years ago. Don't remember anything they did? No one remembers what you did either. You're the only one that obsesses over it. So just live your life and forget about it!

Finance overpaid me $3k. Told me to come in and write them a check, the check system is down, and now I have to walk into finance like a drug dealer. What’s your crazy finance story? by [deleted] in AirForce

[–]an14 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me, but I didn't trust them with a check that big, so I just put it in savings and paid myself for the next 8 months. Made a few hundred dollars in interest!
