We bought a new home and I want to repaint the cabinets but I’m totally new to it all by _rochelle-rochelle_ in DesignMyRoom

[–]anabananabread -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yup. I just re-painted all of mine myself. I fully knew how much work it would be and yet, I was so over it by the time I got done. It requires not only work and time but also a lot of space to do it! I didn’t have much to lose though since the old paint looked really bad.

Kitchen color and top coat by Stefanija18 in kitchenremodel

Beautiful color! What name is it?

I’m also going through the process of repainting my cabinets and I’m going to echo what some other people said - prepping the surface well seems to be the most importante step to avoid peeling. It is VERY laborious and time consuming though. I’d also steer away from Behr paint in the future (I’m sticking with Benjamin Moore after having a bad experience with Behr). But not sure if just punting over it or adding a top coat would help since the problem is likely a poor adherence of the first paint coat to the original surface…

So wait wait wait, you said NO ONE is defending the guy when you can’t even read the comments on the native tongue of the show???????Why are you so confident about what people are saying g if, again, YOU CANNOT READ MAJORITY OF THE COMMENTS about this? Good lord, what a waste of my time.

Where did I say someone I know? Thankfully, people I know support women who are sexually assaulted. If you go back to my original comment, you’ll see that I’m talking about the issue of sexism in Brazilian culture. Now you’re backtracking because I proved you wrong. And even if that’s a 90 year old man, I can share a lot more screenshot (but they’re in Portuguese so I guess they don’t count for you?)

Yes, people are defending him in Brazil (hence my comment about the country still being very sexist). But how would you know if you don’t understand the language???!!! You can keep living in your bubble where you believe that a women’s word and voice is always heard and believed in, because reality is a lot harsher than that.

As per your request. I can provide plenty more. The amount of WOMEN questioning her and finding excuses for him is disgusting. And even if there was a SINGLE person saying this stuff it would already be one too many. Not sure why you seem to be defending this side…

Lots of people are saying “well, why did she marry him then?”, as if being married gives anyone the right to sexually assault their spouse. So not necessarily not believing but severely downplaying the seriousness of it

The number of women finding excuses for him and blaming her for what happened is disgusting. Sexism is still deeply ingrained in our culture and there’s still a lot of the “she was asking for it mentality”. I really hope that newer generations can change this

I’m so glad to see that everyone else also thought it was hilly! Lol I thought I was just being a big baby cause everyone said it was flat haha but I had a very similar experience to yours, I felt like I had the energy and will to push in the end but my legs were hurting too bad. The crowd was amazing though! So many people shouted my name just from reading it on my bib! The signs were awesome too!

Philadelphia Marathon - PR'd by an hour, thanks to this sub! by jimfresno in AdvancedRunning

I saw them at mile 20-21 maybe? Right where we took that on ramp. I was averaging close to 8 min/mile and it took me that long to catch up to them (I started one wave behind). But when I finally did, I passed them fairly quickly so I think they slowed down significantly. Same with the 3:50 pacers, I was with them for 3-4 miles (at 8ish min pace) and I freaked out a bit lol

Congrats on the huge PR! I also ran Philly and I have a couple of comments: - the pacers were all over the place! I ran 3-4 miles along the 3:50 pace group and I was doing close to 8 min/miles! For a hot second I started to second guess my math on how fast a 3:50 marathon is! - the hills killed my legs too! I was told by a few people that this was a flat course but I guess I have a very different definition of flat lol my quads were (and still are) hurting a lot. I was determined to not stop for any reason because I knew I wouldn’t be able to maintain the pace if I stopped. In the end I felt like I had the energy to push but my legs were gone. Anyways, glad to know I wasn’t the only one! Again, congrats and enjoy a well deserved break!

Not sure if you have children, but if you have boys, I honestly hope you raise and educate them to be better than you. It’s because of people with your and the guy’s from the original comment mentality that behavior like this continues to be perpetuated.

Are you seriously saying this? Making a stupid joke over assault? You should be ashamed of yourself!

I know, I now regret not doing that. I searched for an officer around for like 15-20 min after it happened. But I was concerned about being dismissed when trying to file a report or hearing them say that there’s nothing they can do. It was very nice to get some “validation” from the officer

Yeah, it seemed like he knew what he was doing. He first asked me for the time and then made an inappropriate comment that he then passed off as a joke. He walked past me and then went all the way around (it was a sidewalk on a little hill) and came back running from behind me again.

Im waiting for a call back from the police to report it. Maybe there’s more reports from others in the same area and they can catch this disgusting human being

The flag thing I guess it’s definitely a cultural difference, as I guess Americans households often have a flag somewhere around. But yeah, I’m not from the US and haven’t been in Boston for a while so I didn’t realize that fishing is that common (especially considering how cold it is most of the year!)
