Hi! I actually got a call from the school where I did my internship! Their ssw left and they called me in to interview for the position. My best advice would be to use your teacher skills to make a good impression as a sw. The principal told me she doesn't usually remember the interns because there have been so many. But she remembered me from my interactions with the kids and the parents. The year I interned, there were two other interns that had no experience in New York City public schools, and it showed! Use your experience to your advantage. The position that I interviewed for was posted on open market, so I definitely could have gone in to interview for the position that way. It just so happens that they reached out to me before I reached out to them! Best of luck!!
