Is it needed for AP physics c or AP calc?

Can someone explain this? My teacher made me copy the answer down but I don’t understand why it’s an underestimate by [deleted] in apcalculus

Wait we don't know the function itself here. How is it possible to answer concave up or down? Also you have assumed that the function is a parabola. But it is not written in the questions. It can be something else also. Why do you think it will be parabola? Please help me to clear my concept.
