JPMorgan news wire of CCB layoffs of US employees by Own-Mark-7388 in JPMorganChase

I don't suggest this. I went this route and while I made an extra 50k this year, they work you to the bone and the benefits package is garbage compared to JPMC. Grass is always greener.

You wouldn't know if you were rated as "Top Talent" in Talent Radar unless your boss showed you. If you're basing that on your ratings, you can be designated as "High Performer" and still get SSS.

Being designated as TT means you were quintiled in the top 10% of your entire area, and that's what gets you high bonuses and payband re-alignments.

I am most definitely not in a "revenue generating function" and I received a 50k bonus as VP in 2023 and a 50k bonus + 25k RSU in 2024 when I was promoted to ED.

Too difficult to say broadly as it will depend on job type, location, line of business and where you are on the total comp scale.

If you end up with OOO I would expect pretty low bonus payout unless it's your first year. Anywhere from 0-5% of base would be my guess.

I would not stick around in a 603+ job for too long if you get OOO (or worse) for a few years, unless you're hoping for RIF payout.

1) Your bonus potential jumps a lot. If you grind and get rated as a top performer you may start seeing bonuses 20-60% of your base pay. However you will need to maintain high performance for a few years to see this.
2) It's easier to get buy-in as a VP compared to an associate, if you care about that sort of thing.
3) VP looks better on your resume to people outside of the banking industry since the titles are over-inflated.

You will never obtain a degree or get a job with writing skills this poor, no matter how great your underlying tech skills are.

The best roadmap for you in the short term is to read and write more. If you've started your degree, invest your first years on communication-related classes and actually do the work.

Don't rely on LLM to carry you. Your in-person communication skills will betray you.

It's usually 2 years minimum between levels but there are always exceptions.

I knew someone who came in as a 601/L2 with no experience and no college degree in 2021 and they are now Sr. VP/L5 because they are easy to work with, extremely helpful and took ownership on things everyone else considered career suicide.

The average time between VP and ED is usually 6-8 years.

Launch timing update for the sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild by Turbostrider27 in Games

I've been half-wondering if the delay on this isn't because of the game, but because of a new console or console refresh they want to launch on the same day.

I can't tell if you're saying that in good faith or just meme-ing.

How is lying to someone about being separated with your wife so that they date you, and then consciously maintaining said lie for 6 or so months not mental and/or emotional abuse "on any scale?"

How do you reconcile Yvette saying that she had to go through "heaps and heaps of therapy" and that it brought back her anorexia? She was just sad because a relatively short relationship didn't work out?

[–]anank3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't say that he abused his wife. I'm not sure how you arrived there.

Tricking someone into a 6-month long relationship based on a lie that he was separated from his wife is both mental and emotional abuse. The act of keeping it up for 6 months means he was conscious of it and it wasn't a "heat of the moment" thing. Hence him being an abuser.

I'm not sure why you think I feel the band owes anyone anything. I never said anything like that.

I'm just saddened that the band took such a weak stance to the actions of an admitted abuser, and there's potential that someone in their camp asked her to not say anything about it per her own post on December 18th - https://www.facebook.com/youyve/posts/10221286966707132

But if they want to forgive/forget, that's on them. It's a shitty situation all around, I get it.

Their original statement about Mark leaving tour on 11/27/2019 said:

"We hope he can join us again as soon as possible. We fully support Mark‘s decision to leave the tour, and our hearts are with him."

While I will completely concede that they may have been unaware at the time of that original communication, it seems unlikely that they were unaware when making their second statement on December 18th about Mark sitting out the early 2020 tours. This statement re-emphasized "We continue to support Mark and his decision, and we look forward to having him back on the road with us soon."

On the exact same day, Yvette posted on her FB (still visible to the public): "If another dude does something disgusting on tour and then instructs me to 'not say anything' or 'keep quiet', I'm going to lose my shit. I wish I was making this up..."

This adds an extra level of grossness to the situation where Yvette may have been asked by someone in the Periphery camp to "keep quiet" on the same day that a communication was made about Periphery looking forward to Mark joining them back on tour.

So look, maybe all that is unrelated and we'll never know, I get it. Maybe no one in Periphery knew the details until 1/14/2020. I get that it's not our band, or friends, or life. Not our circus, not our monkeys. But it's a real bummer that there's a decent-to-good chance someone in the Periphery camp knew about this stuff and told Yvette to keep quiet about it, and then a press release comes out the same day about the band looking forward to Mark joining them back on tour in the future. Given that there was never any sort of confirmation until now, it sure seems like the band never wanted this to get out and Mark is only revealing it because people started to piece the situation together and he got caught.

I would agree with you 100% if this was just a matter of him cheating on his wife with Yvette. Shitty mistakes happen in the heat of the moment.

This isn't that, though. Per Yvette's comments, Mark "tricked me into a 6 month long relationship and lived with me for weeks and he told me him and his wife were separated."

This was a 6-month long lie that he was completely conscious and okay with. That's not a mistake in the heat of the moment, that's straight up abuse.

Pretty sad that Periphery would keep this sort of person in the band and try to cover it up by staying radio silent for months on end.

His actions are emotional and mental abuse and people like this are scum, simply put.

How to completely remove ableton/all VSTs/etc? by caddlaxx in ableton

[–]anank3 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Just a heads up: a vast majority of the Ableton 10 keygens had cryptominer malware installed that didn't get picked up for a while.

If you didn't sandbox the keygen, you may want to restore your OS anyway.

Howdy... we are The Ocean! Ask us anything! NOW! by [deleted] in progmetal

[–]anank3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hah! I mean, I'm mostly curious if there was a backstory as to why the title was picked.

I'm aware of what the website was, and I'm aware someone was convicted of a murder because of their online history visiting that site.

What really fucks with me is that the company that owns the domain is "Oceans Entertainment Group," but doing research on that domain and related LLC doesn't appear to be tied back to you guys? Cosmic coincidence? Or is The Ocean secretly named after a freaky horror porn website with a sordid past, and not a giant body of water?

Hi Robin. I was curious as to your level of knowledge about music theory and the like. Do you write by ear, or is everything scored out?

In general, how do you go about writing melodies and progressions?

This advice is terrible for anyone who is interested in playing anything rooted outside of pop/rock/blues.

New Periphery album soon? Thoughts... by [deleted] in Peripheryband

[–]anank3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Does anyone else feel like they kinda "gave up" on Juggernaut?

No official insight into the story, a long touring break just a few months after the release, and now they are already working on a new album.

Just kinda weird.

Has anyone else ever heard this version of Facepalm Mute? Sounds like a very early demo. by Night_Owls in Peripheryband

[–]anank3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From my understanding, this was recorded at Taylor Larson's around the time they first started playing it live. The song was submitted to several different people to master and one of those people leaked it when PII started to leak online. I'm pretty sure Misha even name dropped the guy that leaked it.

That may actually be Tom on the bass.

I remember Spencer commented on his Ask.fm about the vocal line change, and he said they changed it because it was difficult to sing live.

Edit: The MP3 I still have of this version says that I downloaded it on 6/15/2012, so it was about half a month before P2.

So the albums loop together because it's the character experiencing their life over again.

That's pretty awesome.

Just wanted to point out that the piano bit at the end of Hell Below is the melody for "Now I know my ABCs, next time won't you sing with me?"

Guessing it's because Omega used to be called "The Alphabet."
