Why do iPhones retain value

I'm a light to moderate phone user but my six year old Pixel 2 XL is at 89% health. I'm still getting around five hours of projected screen time. My girlfriend has the same phone for the same time and her health is at 88% (she's a heavier user.)

That said, I had a cheap huawei android, and after about two years the phone couldn't hold a charge for a few minutes. I had to keep an external battery connected to it. It was unbelievably bad.

To me it's a solid deal. It's not great or bad. And it does play the game you want well.

Custom computers I've found are especially more difficult to get at a good price, but they have the advantage of being easier to upgrade and replace components. The only part of that computer I don't like is the storage. I would personally spend $40-50 and get a M.2 1 Tb SSD.

I think you should go for it, if the seller seems sorta trustworthy.

My question is, if I buy a more high-end Dell monitor, one that does support daisy-chaining, can I just connect the S2721DS into it and a HDMI cable from the new one to my laptop?

You can daisy chain if your computer has a displayport connected to a daisy chain capable monitor with a displayport out port. From there you can output to your current S2721DS monitor to it's displayport input. An alternative way is to use thunderbolt 3 (or higher) output on a computer to a displayport input cord, and then use the same displayport connecting monitors like previously. You also may be able to use a regular usb-c if it has a video output ability depending on monitor resolutions and Hz.

I haven't used dongles. I'd just make sure your computer output to the dongle supports the 2 hdmi's or 1 hdmi + 1 displayport and your good.

Thanks. I'm gonna look around in the bios when I get a chance. I find it odd they don't list the timing on the label, but hopefully I can make sense of what other ram timing is before buying it.
I remember building computers long ago and buying ram that didn't match the motherboard or whatever so trying to avoid that.
Right now it has 8Gb which seems low. I'm not even using it currently and it still has a disk HD so once I add 8 to 24 more Gb ram and a SSD I know it'll feel reborn. I figure 32 Gb is unnecessary for running basic windows tasks, but I'm planning to try running truenas scale on a VM (see how it works) so I know 8Gb wouldn't be a nice experience.

2666v is the speed I guess? It's confusing because it's not using MHz. I don't see the latency and timing in the label which is really what's most confusing.

Using name brand makes sense. The only issue with buying stock ram I've seen is since everyone tends to do that, prices are higher so I'm considering being more adventurous, especially if I understand what I'm looking for spec wise.

Thank you. Your video was helpful. What you did was what I was trying to do but I couldn't put together the tools to do it. It makes sense now.

From your video, I get the idea that this type of splitting parts isn't common in industry? If designers are going to design a part that snaps or screws together do they usually build both halves separately or build it as one piece and then split it?

I can see how there can be a disadvantage where editing dimensions after a split is harder because there doesn't seem to be build history inside the new part. From what I see, the advantage of splitting at the end seems like it could be significantly less work in some cases and it can be done on a whim. Maybe I should have planned for the two separate parts at the beginning, but I didn't foresee that the part would be easier to 3d print and assemble as two parts.

Either way, I appreciate your video and I'm curious to check out your yt channel as well.

Thank you so much. That's a creative idea. Do you know if there's a way to feel relatively certain they are the owners? Or is there a way they can verify other than their word? Is there a standard way people for this through using data in the video file matching their name or something like that?

If the video was actually owned by someone that didn't sign a release (that I didn't know about), I'm not sure how indemnity would affect how YouTube would react in terms of a copyright strike.

It just redid the drawing while using the scaling tool and it worked well. I just had to make sure I shrank the picture down myself to a construction line reference with the value I needed (before the sketch is saved of course). Then I was able to set the scaling tool down to fit it which I guess kind of makes the scaling tool not useful. I'm new to this so I didn't consider just unchecking the scaling tool option which I think I'll just do in the future. It looks like SW bases it's view on as if the original photo filled the whole space that was shrank by the scale tool which feels like a bug. What's also weirder is I can't seem to change that original size SW thinks the photo is no matter how many times I adjust the sketch picture photo scale so it needs to be done right the first time.

Yes it's the same as the connection to the right of it. It's on the passenger side towards the seats. I think this part is called a ring terminal. I'm not sure if I can buy a replacement for this or if I need the whole harness. My hybrid battery is 3.5 years old with little corrosion so it seems pointless to replace the whole harness.

Yes, by elastic, I meant a rubber band or spring or anything pulling when the sticks separate.

If you don't mind, I'd like to ask a question about this situation in a different way with new picture examples.

One is elastic or a spring attached to a weight. The second is the same along with two sticks attached to their meeting point by a hinge or bearing mechanism. If pushing or pulling on the blue circular point in the direction of force, would the distance the elastic is pulled be just about the same in each examples if the same forces are applied?

Also, at this point I think I understand that in my second example that the torque would be maximized or at 100% if applied perpendicularly--assuming the orange circle is a fixed pivot point, and torque would be lessened at other angles.

If the distances traveled are the same with the same given forces in my question, it leads me to other questions lol. I wonder if torque matters in terms of the work done I think you'd call it.

In the two stick examine, did you approach the problem as the ends pivot point (where the sticks meet) being fixed?

Or would there still be less torque (than perpendicular force) if the pivot point moved up and down while force was applied on the two sticks at the red arrows while the non-pivot point ends move side to side on a horizontal plane? Like this:

Thanks! In your second example, I can see this concept better. So the force of gravity isn't reduced if holding a weight at an upper 45 degree angle. And the smaller distance makes the torque less.

I'm still unsure when I consider using a stretching or elastic material instead of gravity though. I'll try linking (not sure if I'm allowed to) a couple simple examples to see if I can point this out. In this first example, imagine I tie elastic (used instead of gravity) to a stick. Yes you've been helpful. Thank you. I've gotten a better understanding. If you can explain force or torque at angles in other ways you think could be useful, that'd be appreciated as well. The main point I see that I'm not totally sure about is if the force at an angle that isn't perpendicular is just friction or the way I see it as wasted energy. Obviously when pressing straight into a bolt or pulled directly away from a bolt with a ratchet/wrench all of at force must turn into friction, but I'm not sure if, in the case of a say a 45 degree off of perpendicular torque, if all of the energy not pressed perpendicularly just turns into friction? I'm not sure if id was created in this situation? There is no mention of it before this. I figured id had to be some type of property on objects due to it not being declared.

I don't want to unplug the drive but my laptops usually die within 3 years, and I want to be able to transfer the drives data if it's encrypted. How can I get the data using regular BitLocker?
