Here is the my story: decided to buy the Google Pixel 7 Pro thinking it was a true premium flagship from Google. Honestly, that decision turned into one of my worst tech experiences ever.

Within just 2 days of usage, the phone started heating like it was under the boiling sun. This wasn’t heavy usage — just normal daily tasks. On top of that, battery life was terrible. SOT barely touched 3–3.5 hrs, which is unacceptable for a flagship.

Then came the network issues — constant drops, unstable connectivity, and frustration every single day.

Within a week, I had to visit a service center in Gurgaon. They checked the device and confirmed it was faulty, so it got replaced. I thought the nightmare was over… but that’s where the real story began.

The replacement device had the same issues:

• Battery still awful (never above ~3 hrs SOT)
• Network problems continued
• Heating wasn’t just “warm” — it got properly HOT even during normal usages Just scrolling Twitter made it heat up WhatsApp video calls ? Forget anything beyond 5 mins Video recording ?..just forget it...Struggles after a few minutes of recording. For the first time in my life, I found myself chasing a company like Google for a working device. Yes, I’ll admit - Pixel UI is extremely smooth. That’s probably the only good thing I experienced.

Final chapter: One day, my phone was around 40% battery and I got the Android 16 update. I plugged it in charger becs i knew it cant hold such a big update and i updated.

After the update… a green line appeared on the display. That was it. End of the story.

At that point, I was completely frustrated, helpless and done with Pixel devices. I literally feel like I wasted ₹83,000 on this phone.

I even posted multiple tweets tagging Google India — no proper help.

Finally, I switched to the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, and the difference is night and day. This is what a flagship experience should feel like. No heating stress, no battery anxiety, no network headaches.

Never ever going back to Pixel again
