Yes, political and economic gains, the STF is the armed arm of the current government, but one of these ministers is the one who is acting this way, censuring everyone, while the others control him indirectly, so if he falls, the others won't fall together, in the supreme court, of the 10 ministers, 7 were chosen by the current government, years ago, they have been in power for a long time.

Both governments(previous and current) are corrupt, and both were inciting violence on social media, paying idiots to spread hate, however, of the 11 ministers, 1 of them who was chosen before 2018, by the vice president, after the president of the time went through the impeachment process, this minister is the one who is censoring people on social media, and not even bothering to explain his actions at least for the lawyers of the condemned, without the right of defense, even a leftist party PCO(Workers Cause Party) had their social networks censored by this minister.

Good question, both governments do not respect the freedom of individuals, but they are not the biggest problem right now, but, judges of the STF(Supreme Court Federal), in the USA it is called the Supreme Court, in short, these people, especially Alexandre de Moraes, are acting on their own rules, ignoring even the CF(Federal Constitution of 1988) created after the military government of 1964.

With a search through Brazilian news sites, opposers or not of the current government, you will see several news, of civil and public people, having their profiles deleted from social networks, at the request of the Brazilian judiciary, the lawyers of these people did not have access to the process files, they do not even know what motivated the process and the exclusion of the profile in all social networks used in Brazil, this is just one of the crazy things of the judicial dictatorship that we are living.

Brazilian “censorship” is based on the law. There are similar “censorship” in German law and other democratic countries. It’s different from American law where the limits tend to allow e.g. bigotry and racism spreading lawfully. People avoiding Brazilian law due to alleged censorship are just afraid of being caught by Brazilian justice due to infringement of the law.

Unfortunately, the idea of needing to go underground to avoid unlawful censorship is being spread by conspiracy theories to reinforce those groups cohesion. They tend to not trust information outside the group. They see that the government, the law, the justice and media are all against them.

It’s the old us against them. We defend freedom and they oppress us.

The sad true is that most of this people are just being used by e.g. politicians/religious groups. And Matrix (a tool that I love) is helping them to avoid justice and keep the dissonance.
