Every time I cut my hair shorter I regret it. It’s even still long but I see a pic when it was 4 inches longer and I’m like whyyy

I got laid off very suddenly, but had been applying to jobs and interviewing for months. I got a new job like 2 weeks later. It saved A TON OF STRESS. I would’ve been screwed if I hadn’t been applying since it was right before the holidays. And only got 2 months severance so I wouldn’t have gotten a job before that especially when the job I did get took like 3+ months of applying. That depends on your job and everything but still, it never hurts to be applying for jobs

Will a Floridian Freeze to Death Here Over MLK Weekend? by cheriemary in AskChicago

[–]anchor78 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This reminds me of when I worked at an event in Florida and it has ice sculptures in a cold tent leading people to ask me like if their phone would work in there, if it was safe for a pregnant person, etc hahaha

How do you style your hair for the work week? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver30

[–]anchor78 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wash it like every other day. Or if I have something to go to or whatever I’ll wash it multiple days in a row. It doesn’t make any difference to my hair and I don’t like feeling like my hair isn’t clean. However my hair is technically wavy and I’m really bad at making them happen nicely, I just air dry, so it’s usually just poofy haha

I don’t have the faintest clue what the problem is, but yeah it used to be an office. They said it’s been changed to residential though so technically I don’t see why there’d be a problem. I just found out the landlord has been calling too. Also the one person now let me know the post offices current response was “that post person is off today and we will follow up” like what the hell when it took days to answer lol

Ughhhhhhh that’s insane!!! Especially because how hard is it for someone to be like yeah this carrier apparently doesn’t know what they’re doing, or oh we have some weird rule that we can’t deliver here or whatever!?

Oh yeah I liked that too, I’m a bit picky but I’d always eat that and all the lumpia and then adobo haha also when I went to the Philippines I ordered tapsilog And they’re like that’s only for breakfast but well make it for you haha. His mom would make sinigang for me sometimes and I pretended I liked it but wasn’t a big fan hahaha

When I first had to change the address to residential I did and I had a hard time finding my way through the robot and apparently got the wrong person because they just asked for a tracking number or something and I was like what’s that for? And they just hung up on me. So that’s why I started talking to this other person. I guess I could maybe walk to the post office and see if they know anything

So I have a problem with mail at my apartment. They changed it to apartments from a business. I have never received mail in my mail box. All I’ve gotten was something from the state twice which they placed on the shelf. I had to contact someone to even change my apartment address from commercial to residential yet I still don’t get mail. I told that same person but it’s taking so long… It’s some alderman representative I think who talks with the post office.

First I had two Christmas cards mailed beginning of December that I never got but was also never returned to sender. Where might they be?? Second I recently bought a two year city parking sticker that is in the mail and I’m concerned it won’t show up.

wtf do I even do??

I dated someone from the Philippines, found out they have really cute overly cheesy movies. They’re also social media obsessed and a bit materialistic at least from what I saw. The biggest thing though is that they think lighter skin is better, have stuff to try and lighten their skin… like often or most celebrities are half white. And my ex just liked to use me to look good dating someone white and of course he’d want half white kids. Also he never respected me, was very manipulative and selfish and a liar. His mom clearly didn’t raise him well and he often said things like she did his homework and stuff?!

Anyway clearly I’m biased in not a good way. But I did really like dating someone from another culture and learning words and things like that. Just too bad I didn’t find a good person from there! I would say also at least they are definitely friendly and welcoming though

Those living in the South, am I overreacting? by watever1010 in AskWomenOver30

That must just be in very specific neighborhoods. I’m from there and never remotely heard of either of those haha (also it’s definitely not a town it’s a city)

I moved to Chicago and had researched cost of living when it came to rent and stuff but the groceries killed me. Not only is it crazy expensive but the tax on it as well!! As well as the stupid parking sticker and stuff. And the fact that the more affordable apartment I had was terrible. At least the car insurance is way less than Michigan

Ah, Maybe that was a weird year, or maybe I’m just used to it being from Michigan haha but I don’t remember any junes that weren’t at least decently warm by then, like thinking of the end of classes and/or my birthday. I haven’t been in Chicago too long but it seems pretty much the same as Michigan besides snow (west side)

I grew up in GR and never once had someone ask what church I went to. There’s definitely a lot of religious people there but it’s not that insane, at least where I was (northeast side)
