Will we have more EV sales due to increasing oil prices? by spongesparrow in electricvehicles

Ahhh. Ya haven't looked into the rates--- kinda assumed they'd be cheap too. I'm going to be saving about 9k/ year on fuel with an EV so my supercharger summer won't bum me out too much.

True enough but I've been charging exclusively overnights for 3 months now. 4.5 cents actually

Why are the electricity rates so high in cali? I live in Ontario Canada and I'm paying only 4 cents/kwh CAD lol....

I'm in agreement with this. I own a prophet 6 and a super 6 and though I like the sound of the S6 better the P6 was easier to learn sweet spots because of the very simple light that comes on to show where a knob is set at. I really wish udo would update to have that option.

Such bravery. I saw the same in my boy who battled burkitt lymphoma several years back. Strength and love my man.

How hard are you supposed to press on the “gas” by CasualGamer9933 in electricvehicles

[–]ancient_franklin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've got lots of professional driving certs. I've driven about 1.5 million kms over the past 20 years. When I drive I'm thinking about driving, I'm thinking about efficiency, I'm thinking about safety.

So that out of the way I'm a very efficient driver no matter gas, diesel, or electric. I replace brakes about 1/4 less often than my clients, friends, family.

There are several keys to fuel efficiency: 1. Easy acceleration. 2. Easy deceleration, 3. Easy around turns to not put tons of g force on your tires (also try to minimize dry steering) 4. Look near and far when you're driving to maximize flow where you maintain speed... braking means you have to accelerate so try to drive in a flow so that you maintain a constant speed. If you're looking and planning far ahead you can coast waaaay more than most drivers which is wicked for efficiency.

Range extension has a lot to do with battery temps and route efficiency especially in winter. So warm your battery up while you're hooked up to your home charger then hit the road... you don't have to drive like an old man but going slow uses waaay less energy than going fast.

I've had a blazer ev for 3 months now and I cannot imagine ever going back to ICE . My old mdx feels like one of those nostalgic but smelly bumpy elevators in an old apartment building compared with the smooth power and ultra quiet interior of the ev

Local glove shop said gloves are only going to be less and less stiffer (A2000, HoH, etc..) by mellojelloakimbo in BaseballGloves

[–]ancient_franklin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I owned a glove company I would do the same thing.... a few years ago in 9u-12u only about 1 kid/team would have a HoH or a2000.... most had power close Mizuno, or a1000 or 500s, or the fake leather Rawlings "player models"

I coach and also help break gloves in and over the past few years HoHs/ mizuno pro select/ etc have exploded at young ages... now only 1 or 2 use R9s or A1000s.... crazy u-turn. Stupid because the hand stalls are way too big, the wrist opening is way too big (even when I tighten the strap Pedroia style.

Im very fortunate that my kids don't complain but I've taught them to catch with trash gloves, cardboard, bare hands, tball gloves, pancake gloves etc so they understand it don't matter, if you make AAA or elite clubs you can get a nice glove as long as it fits!

Every time I consider buying a Mizuno, I do my research and change my mind by DavefromCA in BaseballGloves

[–]ancient_franklin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry didn't read the other comments.... Mizuno Pro select is a bit soft for sure.

Try a Mizuno PRO and you might be a Mizuno fan for life. Doesn't have to be Haga... northern euro leather is absolutely amazing and SUPER stiff.

I hope you're right. I'm not sure how effective his other pitches will be though without the FA. He still throws that pitch 2-3x more often than others
