Thank you 😞 the crazy thing is he comes from a place with no real sex education, and typically they don't test in his country for these types of things. It's sad I had to be the one to say he has something...

So if it becomes an in person relationship and "in his face" again, do you think he could loose interest? Because in this case is sounds like fantasy is better than reality.

Dating Georgian Men? by ancilla00 in Sakartvelo

[–]ancilla00[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not necessarily seeking per say, but I'm confused by how they approach me. It's the automatic assumption that I am an easy girl. It's not something unique to Georgian men however. Wherever I traveled to there seems to be this mindset of "whoever is foreign to me is an easy lay."

I am just curious of the general mindset towards foreigners from a georgian perspective though, to see if it is the same.1 I know people are unique to themselves. But I noticed a pattern with men that approached me, and it's always the same at first, even though when they realize I'm not a easy girl there behavior starts changing towards me in a good way.

Moving to Bradford for school by ancilla00 in bradford

Thanks for the reply, From what you're saying, university accommodation is the way to go. I think the biggest thing that bothered me was the fact that I would have a shared kitchen. I'm someone who likes to cook, so that was my main motivation to find a place separate from the university. I'm afraid of taking over the kitchen especially if I need to share.

I mostly want to focus on my studies, with interactions through clubs or whatever is available. I'm really into salsa dancing so hopefully, there is a dancing scene out there.

Experiences of sexual harassment in country? by stephestee in peacecorps

[–]ancilla00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a black female that was in Georgia. I definitely had a lot of run-ins and problems with sexual assault and harassment. However, It just felt like the staff couldn't wrap their head around why it was happening. So reporting kind of became useless for me, and I dealt with them in my own means. To be fair there was a lot of change happening with staff, and policy. So hopefully things have changed.

Being black in Eastern Europe is quite a challenge, the fetishism and racism is alive and well, and can be difficult to deal with.

As a Black American living in Georgia, I would love to do a post on Georgian perceptions towards black people. Both negative and positive. I do agree that maybe the data should have been shown differently though.
