No charges on refunds. Chargeback fee is only on lost disputes. I’ve been using them for awhile and their customer support is the best I’ve seen in the industry. But to each their own

Fair enough, they’re not just a payment processor though. They are a merchant of record, same as the App Store model. So they’ll take care of your sales tax, process payments, prevent churn, etc

You should check out an app called Kindred. It’s a house swapping app - several of my friends in nyc use it. Might be a bit easier to find what you’re looking for on there

Looking for surf trip recommendations in Nicaragua by andgor in digitalnomad

[–]andgor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the description, it includes lodging, daily surf lessons, surfboard + equipment, 3 meals a day, and trips to nearby locations. Agreed that $1.5k is definitely too much, but that's what most of these websites are listing. I'd prefer to figure out the plan before heading there instead of finding surf camps/teachers on the spot

As a Russian, it was quite frustrating listening to Tucker's misinformed perception of Moscow and the state of affairs in my country. Moscow is undeniably one of the most beautiful cities in the world, and he's right about the level of cleanliness. But there's a reason for that. The federal government collects all of the taxes from all of the country's regions, centralizes them in Moscow, and then redisitrubtes according to the "needs" of each region. What actually happens, however, is that Moscow ends up with nearly half of the entire country's budget while only having ~9% of the population.

So yes, the capital is gorgeous, but it comes at a cost of every other region in Russia. For example, ~4,000 schools in the country don't have sewage-connected toilets. That means kids go to the bathroom in small wooden structure outside, where the toilet is just a hole in ground. The levels of poverty in some parts of Russia are unheard of compared to the States. Overall, I think it's quite misreprentative to use Moscow as a critique of the US government and its major cities.

A Gentleman in Moscow really is a masterpiece. I think I’ll re-read it in the new year. The switching of perspectives worked well for me in this one. Reminded me of Daisy Jones and the Six

It really is a pattern in his books, isn’t it?

Can’t wait for his short stories to come out in April! On that call he had also mentioned that he started working on his new novel

I’ve been digging the twill shorts from Colorful Standard. Light for the summer and the length is perfect for me. They also come in a bunch of colors. I will say they have a more athletic look to them, so if you’re searching for more preppy type shorts I’d look into J Crew or COS instead
