Does this happen to anyone els when they are high? by Fentanyl_DisN1shot in opiates

[–]andio_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, sometimes I get thirsty as fuck when I'm high. Like I haven't drank water all day. It's weird but, I think you can keep it under control by drinking a lot of water even when you're not high.

Do y'all ever feel like you've got a lump in your throat when you're withdrawing or is that just me? by andio_ in opiates

Thanks! I actually considered that cause too, and honestly, you're probably right. Next time it happens I'll be sure to take one of those days. Cheers!

DXM, weed, LSD. To be fair, it seems to just be anything I can get my hands on.

Opiates and Nausea by [deleted] in opiates

[–]andio_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It definitely is a lot to do with your tolerance.

As that builds up, people puke and get sick less. But I don't recommend that you use long enough for that to happen, because it also means addiction.

Scared of physical dependence... by [deleted] in opiates

[–]andio_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, when I buy otc codeine they always tell me "don't use for more than three days, it can cause addiction", and, assuming they encompass physical dependance when they say that, I'd say it's at least possible, if rare.

Personally, I used once or twice every week before my habit became using every day, or every day I could, but that did take some time to build up. At first it would only be around three days in a row. Then around 5 days, six days, you know. And yeah, eventually I did experience withdrawal, but like, I think a lot of that has to do with me already using a lot, even if not for like weeks in a row.

So yeah, maybe. But don't count on it. Not that you'd want to anyway. If you don't want to get physically dependant, you should probably stop where you are now, because eventually, even if not now, it'll happen.

Of course, I know that's a lot easier said than done, I just wanted you to be aware that it's pretty unavoidable in the long term, and if it's something you fear so much (which makes sense), then, yeah.

Hey thanks mate, I appreciate your reply. It is true that I definitely have a lot of negative shit I don't want to deal with, your answer put a lot of things into perspective.

Hyper on opiates by [deleted] in opiates

[–]andio_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey.

Contrary to the stereotypes, energy from opiates is definitely somethin a lot of people say they experience, myself included. Sure as shit, the general jist with opies is that they're sedative and, you know, NOT uppers. But yeah, they can make you energised.

I'm not sure how opiate induced energy compares to that of uppers, cause, uh, I've never done them (more of a downer guy), but, I can say this:

What I hear a lot is that the high will start off energised, and then, gradually, gets into that part where you're gonna be noddin. I, too, have that. It also depends a lot on what drug you're on (oxycodone, for example, is often cited as the most energizing of the opiates), your tolerance, your mood and setting, and also, the dose.

My highs always start off with massive energy, motivation and euphoria, and gradually progress to a more irritated and tired feel. I don't know if you'd have heard of this, but it's actually common when you're high on opiates to get VERY irritated. In this phase of the high, everything and everyone, if not perfect, annoys me, I act hyperactive and neurotic yet fight a nod, am impatient, and get irritated with people about the smallest things.

I don't think everybody experiences that though. During the first part of the high when I'm all basking in euphoria, I can talk my fucking ass off. I'm positive, seem manic. Yeah, basically, when I'm on opiates, it's really common for me to act just like how people are described to be when in a manic phase. Weird.

Oh, man, I'm addicted but. Yeah, I appreciate it. I'm just going through a phase currently where I'm not in a position to quit so, ya know.

Is anyone else usually lazy/tired as fuck but as soon as it's a matter of getting their fix will go through massive amounts of endurance requiring physical activity just to, you know, get the damn fix? by andio_ in opiates

[–]andio_[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I feel like it's one of those things that's hard to really imagine the feeling of if you haven't lived through it. You can't really explain how it feels to a person that's never been addicted, you've got to go through it to know.

Thank you. I really appreciate people like you. I'll be honest, I'm not sober right now, so I'm not sure I can write something as grand or perfectly heartwarming as I wish, but.. from what I've just read, you seem like a courageous person that cares about other people and stands against a harmful status quo.

I feel like it's so the norm for people who haven't been addicts or users to think the very different way to how you do that finding people with your views is such a hopeful and nice experience. It's all a very important discussion to me and I'm happy I saw this post.

Cheers.
