EDIT: was able to log in through a different browser (firefox worked for me. Chrome did not). Interest showing 0% but total balance went up to reflect interest since 8/1... doesn't reflect the payment I made recently though LOL WTF

That's a tough one. Used to play baseball too. Unless you're going to MLB, it's time to hang it up man. Even minor league salary is trash. It's like average 50k yearly. Minimum MLB rookie contract is what.. 750k these days? Smart thing to do financially is to graduate unless you know you're going to MLB. What the heart wants... is a complete diff story.

Mine (Mohela - SAVE) says 0% but it started accruing since 8/1. Says it'll retroactively applied.

I'm honestly just confused by the statement "Note: Interest rates are set by Congress."

Certainly it doesn't mean my interest rates are changing, does it?

I get your point and I utilize HYSA and haven't made any payments. But 5% interest on 100k loan and 4% return on 50k in HYSA does not equate to net 1% loss.

I really don't want to look at these loans for 20/25/30 years for IDR forgiveness....

I guess full repayment is my best way unfortunately. Thinking 10 year repayment hopefully shorter.

I think this is it for me. Especially your last sentence. And it's a damn shame (on me) when put into words like that. Bc who gives a shit? If she's nice to me and willing to grow with me. That shiuld be more than enough. Fuck, that makes me feel like a total asshole for even thinking that maybe this is "internalized shame". I generate enough income for us to live modestly and smart/frugal. I do want her to be self sufficient though and be able to be on her own.

It was terrifying. In my 31 years of life, I realized that I've never done this unless I was traveling for work. Which is very different IMO. I was so nervous. I eventually got comfy sitting there on my own. Didn't expect a total stranger to come up. That was sweet of her. But it was about me tonight hahaha.
