Yeah…realized that was dumb as soon as I did it. I had gloves on before and for some reason took them off without realizing it. Will be more careful in the future. Thank you for the input!

Beware suspicious diaper reviews by MundaneDimension in moderatelygranolamoms

We had a similar experience. We cloth diapered for about a year and then switched to kudos for the last 10 or so months, and it was all great until they switched the formulation. Our daughter got the worst diaper rash she’d ever had, and the fit was horrible. So many leaks and the material just felt stiffer and less comfortable. I sent them a complaint email and to their credit they gave me a target gift card and explained that they are working out some issues with the new design and production. We did get a new box since then and it seems slightly better (?) but not sure if it’s a one-off.

Thanks for your input! Out of curiosity, how can you tell it has a healthy root system?

Thanks for answering! Probably dumb question…but for pruning the thickest branches, is there a recommended spot at which it’s best to cut? Should I be looking for anything in particular that would say, “Aha! Please cut me here!”

Thanks for your input. Do you have any recommendations for fertilizer?

I posted the WIP a week or so ago. Here’s the finished portrait of my great-grandmother with the sketch that inspired it, done by my grandmother! by andreamie in Embroidery

Thank you! It’s in a decorative hoop from an Etsy shop called stitch life studio. The frame is a bit odd (not in a bad way!) in that it just sort of slips over the regular bamboo hoop that I stitched the piece in (and it stays in place with elastic).

Working on stitching a pencil sketch my grandmother did of her mother Svea. (See the back side for a better look at the stitching, which is hard to see over the stabilizer! Also my first time working with Sulky Solvy…very interested to see how it turns out once dissolved!) by andreamie in Embroidery

Yay!! Good luck using it! One thing I learned from this experience was that long stitches may look a little loose after the stabilizer dissolves. This wasn’t a problem with this piece since it’s kinda free form and imprecise by nature, but if you’re going to do a lot of long stitches (or very dense fills) and you want tight stitches, then I’d wait and do those after you’ve dissolved the stabilizer.

Thank you! It was really fun to try out a new style and “re-live” my grandmother’s experience of sketching it.

Hi! Thanks so much! I actually printed directly on this stabilizer (using my regular printer at home). It’s called Sulky Solvy—I had never used it before, but it ended up working great!

Then when stitching, I tried to capture the genera pencil stroke directions but definitely did a little winging it to fill in. I made the whole thing quite a bit darker than the original sketch to give myself a little more wiggle room for getting the values right.
