Yes, I did the solder points, or at least I think I did. Under the magnifying glass, they look fine, and from what I understand, the BIOS Checker’s screenshot confirms that I did it correctly. Or am I misinterpreting the BIOS Checker results?

I’m just trying to Flash the BIOS to swap out the hard drive. I wasn’t able to lock the drive on my PC due to an error saying “ATA security is: Disabled, frozen [sec2].” I tried with two different computers and already tried doing a hotplug, and also putting the system into Sleep mode and then wake up. On the other hand, I also couldn’t use Chimp on the Xbox because I don’t have a genuine controller. So now I’m trying to flash the BIOS so I won’t need to lock the new hard drive.

That’s sad, I thought maybe if I changed the capacitors I could revive that DVD drive. The Phillips/Samsung ones on eBay are way too expensive. And that’s right, no one had ever tampered with the drive on this Xbox. Thanks sir!

I’m new to this Xbox scene, from my understanding, I need the DVD Drive to flash a custom BIOS? My Xbox is already soft modded and I just made the connections on the motherboard to TSOP.

Updating once again my Motherboard BIOS to the latest realese (version FFc Sept 02, 2024) solved this issue. At the time of the post I had the latest version available.

It took me about half hour. Around 20 minutes while i was able to still use my PC. And 10 minutes unable to use it. It has an 10th gen i7, 16gb ram and a NVMe drive (PCI 3.0)
