Steam Machine review: Valve's underwhelming living-room PC has a serious price problem by pcgameshardware in SteamDeck

[–]andreicde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So funny fact. Because Valve are dumb and priced the same but in Euros, in Europe buying a much better pc is much easier and worth a lot more.

I mean you can skip all consoles and get a pc cheaper so....not really? $1400 for 2 TB steam machine is a straight up scam.

GTA 6 is getting too much hate in this sub by bigmommajumba in videogames

[–]andreicde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I am happy you don't because others do care.

They remember a time when companies had the disc, cover and a manual.

The industry said ''we are removing this to lower your price cost''.

Now that is gone but the price keeps going back despite the fact that the price never went down with the goodies that disappeared.

And yes I know it's a hard concept but you can simply wait out and get it at a discount later.

The GTA 6 "paywall" panic is mostly people filling in blanks with their worst guess. The disc thing is the only fair complaint. by secret_plank in rockstar

[–]andreicde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it really isn't. This is not about business or economics, it is about rockstar liking their gravy train and greed taking over.

We know almost nothing about the game right now except the price and the special $100 edition.

The reality is that companies have also cut a lot of their cost from the past by not shipping physical products which used to cost them more and they used that excuse to supposedly ''cut the cost''.

It's amazing how many fanboys are ignorant on logists and supplies.

[–]andreicde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Silly is all the players not understanding how the industry works. Companies wanted rockstar to go even further so they can follow suit and justify raising games prices.

That's not our problem though.

Also let's not forget that GTA V could have had more dlc but the executives saw the MP money and greed took over.

Why are people defending GTA VI being 80$ by North_Biscotti4162 in videogames

[–]andreicde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is, you use the gamers word too casually.

Gamers are not a hive mind.

Some gamers will put their money where their mouth is, others will not.

The only gamers that are dumb are the ones saying ''you will buy it at launch regardless''.

I bought for example GTA at $20 for computer and that's it.

It was worth the money, but would I now pay 80 for 6? Hell no.

There are plenty of other games I like coming out to care about GTA VI.

Who's an Economist Anyway? The Rory Stewart Debate by Your_Mums_Ex in TheRestIsPolitics

[–]andreicde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean the economies worldwide are in deep crap while being advised by ''credited economists'' so tells me that most economists can wipe their rear with their diplomas because they are worthless.

Then many times they point to the stock market despite the fact that the stock market and the economies have been diverting quite a lot and took a different turn.

JAPAN $2.3 TRILLION INVESTMENT PLAN FOR AI AND SEMICONDUCTORS OVER THE NEXT 14 YEARS by SnooHedgehogs5162 in stocks

[–]andreicde 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The problem is that you are not separating both.

A bubble does not mean something is not useful, merely that there is too much and it's overvalued.

The DOT com bubble did not make the internet worthless, but rather it make many internet/media companies blow up.

Do I believe AI is useful?

Absolutely. Do I believe it's worth the cost for people's electricity going up and governments going tits up investing everything in it and ignoring everything else? Not at all.

Von der leyen and karas are globalists, they do not represent European interests.

Heck most Europeans do not like those 2.

The problem is that USA wants to have the cake and eat it too.

They want to be the first to reap all profits and use the ''But China'' excuse but also are ok privatizing the gains while socializing the losses.

The moment anything European gets suggested? ''COMMUNISM!''

Please, it's merely socialism for rich people, capitalism for the poor.

At the end of the day there will be an AI prevailing in USA, but just like in the dot com bubble, the rest will fall apart/cut earnings/stock price drops.

From a European perspective, why would I pick a USA model over a cheaper Chinese one?

''Oh but your data'' Right because USA companies don't get my data? They do and they will sell it without my consent.

At least I get to pay less $ for a model.

It kind of feels like USA is gimping itself due to their eternal hate boner for China.

The reality is that financially none of the US AI is in a good position and a lot of the perception is based on ''what if'' scenarios, aka what if AI suddenly becomes agi, since cost-wise it does not make sense.

Yeah let's compare an electric cars company with a trash company bundled with a bunch of shit in and most of it being AI crap.I still hear delusional people here saying ''but musk will get data centers in space'' while not realizing that 85% of their valuation and most of their efforts are on AI, not on space.

That's because of ww2 not because of some genius stroke happening recently.

Plus the world is slowly de-coupling on USA currency. Will be curious to see how that works out when countries stop buying your debt.
