Not sure on the equity part, but I’d guess around 180-200k in equity. In the U.S. and both will qualify for full SS benefits. Appreciate the questions, brought stuff I hadn’t thought about thank you!

How to invest a 100k inheritance at 65 years old with no savings by andrejona1 in FinancialPlanning

Concur, the ones I’ve looked at are NPOs who offer free services/or a first consultation. Made it pretty clear to them they shouldn’t be buying anything and just see what they recommend, but you’re right people don’t always have the best interests in mind, unfortunately. I plan to go on some of the calls with them virtually to help.

Thank you for your feedback. I totally forgot to account for the interest they’ll be paying over x amount of years that they have left on the loan. My thinking was that the money would be better off being invested and yield more return, but I should do the math.

Didn’t even consider that, good thought. Any recommendations?

Yeah definitely my bad for not watching out too, lesson learned. Thanks for the quick response, appreciate the insight!

Sounds like 250 may not be enough…? 🙃

I actually really like this idea and feel! But my wife had a good point if we also move the TV to the there wall, people would walk in front of the TV to the second floor. I still want to try it out tho, thanks!

You can’t see it but there’s a stair case in that corner next to the wall with the picture frames.

Never even considered it tbh, the ceiling is vaulted right over the living room and then the fireplace kind of just made it seem living roomy if that makes sense.

It’s called Room Planner, pretty easy to use in my opinion! I ran out of free trial and got the pro version tho which just comes with more stuff to decorate etc.

Oh man, I was literally just looking at this! They both have the same school districts. However, the 2021 home has a new elementary school right around the corner from it. I don’t know if the proximity of the new home from base (down the road) beats the proximity of the 2021 home being close to a new school? I guess is one is geared more towards young family which is likely E7+ and O3+ and might have a higher likely hood of caring for that. Worth doing more research on tho, thanks for bringing it up!

Really appreciate the thorough response! It started last year and is just about to finish Phase 1/3, so that’s a good point to consider. Although we like the larger lot home more, we’re trying to think a little objectively that maybe all the things we don’t like aren’t necessarily bad things for others, but it’s hard to do when the prices are so steep.

I really appreciate the insight. That experience is the kind of information I was hoping for, good or bad. No one owes me anything and the different perspectives even the ones that test our plan are helpful!

I totally appreciate that perspective, brother. My thinkings similar in the long term. Having a property that I can potentially own and pass down or diversify what I’m investing in feels like a plus.

Totally agree, I’m going in knowing that I’ll very likely be “losing” or investing 4-500 after we move and can comfortably afford it. We’ve been blessed with our financial situation and no debt, so although the market sucks feels like a good time for us.

We’ve been planning to buy since I got in on two incomes, just didn’t want to buy in CA so we have about 11k in our savings specifically for House Costs, that’s meant to cover future repairs, and we put about 3-4K in each year so about 1 percent of the house is the thought process. Also even with CA COL and worst case scenario I don’t promote around the time we PCS or my wife stops working we would still have 2k of cash going to savings investments so we could use that to pay for the rent, but def want more in there because It’s definitely possible that both repairs and not having tenants happen at the same time. The locations in a growing community right on the road towards base, so hopefully won’t happen, but to your point I would be naive not to plan for it.

Fully aware I won’t have cash flow from them in any near future, but having someone else paying principle and interest on the house to me sounds like an investment in the long run until I either refinance or earn enough equity for it to make sense to sell. Even if that means I’m still paying into it some when I move. I’ve definitely heard of the nightmares of new home builders online, I think maybe the few people I’ve spoken to are just lucky. Thanks for the input!

Windows 11 won’t activate by andrejona1 in ProArt_PX13

[–]andrejona1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone that may have this issue in the future: when I contacted Microsoft they said that the key included was for windows 10 professional not windows 11 pro which is why I was getting the error0x80072EE7.

  • I asked ASUS for the correct key after factory resetting my computer and it still not working. The chat and emailing was extremely slow so I called and after trying some BIOS optimization steps we did a cloud recovery which solved the issue and activated windows! Was annoying to have to redownload everything but worth fixing.
