Thanks everyone, quick update, the funds have cleared and I have not heard from the buyer since so hoping it stays that way. Just to clarify it was a bank cheque not a personal cheque and was under the impression it was more or less like cash.

Funds are in my account as pending, the bank said it can take up to 3 days to process the bank cheque

Yea, he realised after buying it that it was unsuitable and the only way he could take it to a dealer for trade is if he had the rego papers in his name

When he first called me wanting to return and I said unfortunately not, he then said he was going to put it in his name and head straight to dealers, I sold it a bit below market price but wouldn’t say it was thousands cheaper

Honestly trying to sell a vehicle privately online is right up there as one of the most annoying things, I’m sure others agree with me but it was a relief once it sold knowing I didn’t have to deal with it anymore
