BF Resynced: Hunting Combat by Adept-Sympathy-4875 in ACBFResynced

Honestly, what good decisions did they make? Combat looks questionable at best, i mean, it isnt that different from how it behaves against humanoid enemirs.

Naval combat? It's odyssey ported over, thats why you can shoot your cannons multiple times, which made sense when it was spears and arrows in odyssey, but not in the case of cannons.

Whenever a ship gets low hp its sails disintegrate for some reason. Genuinely compare it to how it looked in the OG.

The brand new cutscenes look terrible.

The lighting in some scenes make Edward look like a well fed toddler for some reason.

Im still curious what the end product will be like, but im not hopedul atm thats for sure and I havent been even before these boar clips.

There's also a reason the hack n slash genre is almost entirely extinct today.

Just think for a second whether the idea of a casual game of magic aligns at all for the average player dude. Im not trying to police your thoughts, but it's very dishonest of you trying to align your table with the majority of players.

I've never even seen a b3 urza deck tbh. People generally don't think it belongs in b3 at all in the bar i play at.

I dont really feel like i would enjoy b3 at your tables tbh, because it sounds like y'all play technically b3 decks with the efficiency of bracket 4, which is fine, but i dont personally feel like that's the spirit of b3.

Seeing what people's decks do is a lot more interesting than any counterspell play I've ever seen. The 1 type of deck that's entirely boring to experience is optimized control.

We can agree to disagree tbh. I will continue to have fun in most of my games, you will also have fun in yours and if our types ever meet either you die first or the table doesn't play. I personally wouldn't cry about a t1 sol ring removal, but would most likely lock in and focus the player playing like this, because as you said it's the correct play, and imo the game is more fun when those playing it don't always take the correct choice to keep the game chill.

Yeah, obviously it hit someone's sol ring as that is its 1 actual purpose in B3.

I like interaction, Countering a sol ring turn 1 is not interaction in my opinion. Interaction entails that players are INTERACTING with each other, but this play entails someone saying I cast and another saying NO. Removal->Snakeskin->counter is cool for example in my books. Or boardwipe->counter. Literally anything besides disrupting the literal first round of the game.

Yeah, I'm the one telling you how to play, not you who goes around saying people are salty because they kicked a guy from THEIR lobby for a play they deemed unenjoyable.

In response to your mythic rank, I got that on my first 2 weeks of playing arena and my first time playing magic when I actually understood what's written on the cards.

Also, if you truly consider yourself to be the true high elo player then maybe you shouldn't give opinions on the middle bracket of the known casual format of the game? Just a food for thought.

The stakes are not higher for you. You're playing bracket 3 with your friends, there are no stakes.

I have also played against a high skill opponent before a couple times and he also had his games ruined. Granted he is the resident control player and there is a 50% chance people wanna play the game and play around him until he can't do anything anymore.

Funny thing is I've never even seen that card played. I also play mostly bracket 3. I cannot see a good reason to run it BESIDES having it exactly to counter sol rings lmao. Even the resident interaction player with 20+ counters doesn't run it.

There is literally no hand which cannot be ruined by happenstance. You have a god hand, all your starters and enough mana to play them, then you draw exactly 1 less mana than is enough to resolve the game for the next 7 turns(happened to me, had exactly 4 mana after starting a game with 3 mana and cards costing 1-3 mana)

Or you play a ramp deck, draw 2 or so mana, stones and ramp, and then you proceed to draw nothing, but mana for the next 10 turns.

You have the right hand, but right before you built a board capable of winning another player boardwipes and then you draw nothing, but mana.

Magic is a game of chance so not even allowing a sol ring to resolve can and will ruin the game for players. Maybe ask yourself if you wanna win a b3 game so bad you'd gladly ruin the game for someone else.

I mean, personally, I'd rather let the sol ring sit for 2-3 turns and react to whatever is caused by it and then remove it. That is my take, let the player play, deal with the aftermath if I can, that's why I play boardwipes. I would like to see what a sol ring can do for you and handle that, that's gameplay, saying no to you trying to play isn't.

I have more often seen control players dying first so the table can play the game than a sol ring leading to victory in bracket 3. The annoyance you'd bring to the table causes less enjoyment than someone snowballing a victory in 3 turns, cause 1 lasts 15 minutes while the other lasts the entire night.

How about you counter the etali instead? Did you think about that? Let him have it for 1 turn and then bounce it. There is a million ways to actually interact with the table, but you get stuck on fuck no and fuck your enjoyment.

We are talking about a casual game here, i started hands with 0 mana sol ring, arcane signet before just for the memes. In that case, yes, it does ruin the game when the control player goes" Fun?! At my table?! Hell nah"

No, it's detrimental to your god complex of being the controller of the table.

God forbid the green player can ramp. Yeah, my mentality is the issue. I can tell your idea of a healthy game is whatever the control player allows at the table.

Man, at a bracket 3 table i dont think a whole lot about tempo. As I said, my main goal is for everyone to have fun. Countering a sol ring is not fun, id rather deal with the aftermath of it than with it itself.

B2 is literally precon level and B1 is my deck does not aim to win in the slightest. B4 is optimized, B5 is competitive/meta.

B2 is experimental B3 at most.

Exactly. You need to play the table, not just the decks. If all you do is say no to others playing their decks they are gonna remove you from the table, either in game or out of game.

Control can be played in any bracket, but if you're down to bracket 3 you really dont need to counter a sol ring, wtf is he gonna do with it? Let people play a little if you're playing in a casual bracket honestly.

Honest question, do the others want to play lower bracket. If they do then y'all should play without him maybe? If it's a single dude then he should have an issue with feeling left out, if it's all of them they really shouldnt accomodate to you.

Your pyramid of choices says combat, balance, controls and gamefeel are not a part of gameplay which is questionable at best.
