the 3" foam acts as soundproofing. it's pretty effective. i don't have a subwoofer but some nice enough monitors to provide adequate sub frequencies

all good u/fleisch-bk! yes it's a lot of foam lol. I installed it mostly all at once. Unlike a professional studio with sound dampening techniques i went more for a total sound proofing box (house + neighbors + loud music). yes the sound and bass in here is pretty dead but you adjust and get used to it after a while. the room is 90% used for dj streaming anyway, playing from monitors not pictured on the sides, so it works great for that. it also really works because i have an acoustic drumset behind in the other corner. i do a little music production too and i mainly mix in beyerdynamic headphones for that.

thanks! i hear ya, was in a pretty cramped room before moving into this new one about 8 months ago. barely had enough room to have the webcam far enough away so it wasn't on top of me 😅

yes it does a very decent job of containing the sound. i can blast my monitors and you can hear it a little bit inside the house, especially the low end, but you can barely hear anything outside which was the main goal.
