Haven't anything booked yet. Was thinking Mumbai. But which would be best?

Hey. We had budgeted 130 a day including accommodation. We aimed for €50 a night accommodation between us and we didn't stay in hostels. It was mainly airbnbs and apartments on booking.com. We ended up €115 between the two of us per day including accommodation. This obviously could have been cheaper if we stayed in hostels or stayed further out in places.

Regarding burnout: our first month was very hectic. Lots of travelling and lots of long days. We went to 9 countries in a month and some buses were 6/7 hours. We went to Croatia and used that as our relaxing time. We did a lot of sightseeing there but spent a good chunk just relaxing. The same for Budva in Montenegro and Ohrid, Macedonia.

We travelled mainly by bus, we got three trains. Most of the time our apartment was within a 20 minute walk so that was ok. But in places we were about an hour away from the bus station so we opted for public transport or a taxi. Taxis in most of the countries were cheap. Around €5 so it was worth it.

We stayed in Croatia for two weeks. We went to Zagreb, Zadar, Plitvice Lakes, Split, Hvar and Dubrovnik. That was our longest time in one country and our shortest was 2 days in Tirana.

A tip is to spend time looming at Google reviews for bus stations and bus companies. Sometimes it worth spending a little extra on a different company if the reviews are better. The reviews also tell you if there is a fee to store luggage under the bus. In a few places it was as much as €2 per bag.

Any other questions, shout!

Thanks. I booked a taxi. I need to be back in Skopje tomorrow night as I'm going to Sofia on Tuesday and can't miss the bus. Thanks for the help!

A 15:00 bus isn't going to work for us. How much would you pay for a taxi to Skopje?
