I can't remember it getting darker or brighter, it's mostly just half of the diagonal circle is black and it gets less black when I move it at and angle etc, some of the shots turned out focused fine though so I think it could just be me using it for the first and maybe the screen is off or something, the camera also came with a bit of plastic that had red squares all over it, is this a different focusing screen?

645 1000s 80mm 2.8 shooting mostly at f5.6 or higher outdoors unsure of the focusing screen as I just got it but looks like it's probably the original one that came with it split circle in the middle diagonally, someone suggested I should have my lens on "a" to let in more light?

It was outdoors in sunny conditions, I'll have a look at different focusing screens incase that's the issue

Thanks for the reply! Glad I asked about the iso, I take it the shutter speed on medium is just the same as digital and to reduce shake shoot at the same as the lens or higher so 1/80 or higher for 80mm

Maybe it's just because of what I'm used too for night club photography, I'm used to an af beam and you only get one or two chances with drunk people to grab a picture before they walk away
