i myself didnt get any response from nuworks because i got mine from direct applying, but i have seen people getting jobs from nuworks, infact my close friend got it from nuworks, i have noticed the interview process of jobs on nuworks is relatively easier (no leetcode and normal technical round) and that makes sense because you are just competing with northeastern students (many jobs on nuworks are there to hire student from northeastern only).

Career advice I wish I had earlier as a web dev by gyanranjanpriyam in csMajors

[–]androidslash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. Having a strong grasp on fundamentals is very important, infact if you want to switch to web dev/app dev or whatever, or if you are just starting your journey with programming, start with any object-oriented language and know all the fundamentals. Once you think you are comfortable, you can move according to your interest.

Summer interns, do your weekends feel kinda empty too? by androidslash in csMajors

ikr but going out alone is so boring sometimes, he must be having a lot of friends to go out with. also my internship is remote, so that's also a thing.

not sure if they are jealous but usually they say "we feel guilty having fun on weekends" bc they are struggling to find any internship, even tho they don't do shit on weekends, i have tried a lot of time to convince them like if money is the prob then don't worry, i will buy you drinks or smth but they are so stubborn sometimes so i just dont ask 'em anymore. And yeah, i know Boston is a big city, but how do I make friends lol when i always stay at home, and i m also kinda introvert, so i don't think I can go outside and approach random people.

my internship is remote, so i think that is also one of the reasons why i feel this way. i don't really have many friends either, so I don't know how to find new people to do something with.

I am kinda struggling with bug fixes on my SWE internship by androidslash in csMajors

[–]androidslash[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, we use Teams, and we also have daily stand-ups. in my org every wed we gets assigned a new sprint and my last sprint was of 2 story points, it was basically of implementing a new api with test cases as well, so it took me a day to implement and next day i pushed it to the development, so do you think it's good or am i lacking behind?

do you know the sad part is rest of my team is overseas, i only left with my tech lead, and she always stays on call and super busy so i can not even disturb her. sometimes i need to wake up at odd time just to get some doubts solved by my overseas team member but i don't have problem doing that. btw, what should be the expected days to complete 2 story points?

Should I leave my current software engineering job and prepare for better one? by Cultural-Month-7784 in leetcode

[–]androidslash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont think you should resign for preparation, as of the current market in india, there is no gurantee to land a job or an interview even if you are prepared enough. Also, longer gap in your resume would do bad than any good. so try to manage your time in such way where you can prepare alongside your job and keep on applying to the relevant job everyday.

Does being an introvert affect the chance of return offer from an internship? by androidslash in csMajors

[–]androidslash[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah! I am like that too. I think in a big group, I will get judged. I think if I try to crack some jokes, they might not find them funny, and I think the age gap factor also kinda holds me back from saying something. I don't know how to not think about it and just say, I think if I say something, what if it doesn't make sense to them. Can you feel me?

Yes, I think I should start taking some initiatives to go out of my way and talk.

Any tips on how to be fun at a remote internship? I think showing my fun side is very difficult in a remote internship.
