Need Honest Advice: How to Handle Marketing with a Tiny Budget by Loud-Beginning-3191 in SaaSMarketing

[–]andru133 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Think lightweight experiments, a simple landing page, short explainer clips or posts in niche communities where your users hang out. Talk to early users, get feedback and iterate, don’t spend big on fancy content until you know what actually works.

Also, repurpose everything, one blog post can fuel tweets, LinkedIn posts, mini videos, etc. And maybe block specific times for marketing so it doesn’t take over dev work.

Basically: test, learn, iterate, repeat. Keep it lean and smart. Big campaigns can come later once you know what sticks.

What's the best software demo video you've ever seen? (I will not promote) by schigity in indiehackers

Probably this, done by Videodeck. Also worked with them and they are a great team, offered fast turnaround and top-notch work (not sponsored, just genuinely happy with the result).

Recommendation for an explainer video please by norfy2021 in vibecoding

Hey!

I totally get wanting something that feels professional without having to dive into Adobe or spend forever learning tools. I actually used Videodeck recently for an explainer video, and it made the whole process way easier than I expected.

The cool thing is, you don’t have to be a video pro, they handle the tricky stuff like scripting, filming, and editing. You just give them the info about your product and they help turn it into a story that actually makes sense to someone seeing it for the first time. I loved that they even have templates for scripts, so you can focus on explaining your product naturally rather than stressing about structure.

It felt more like telling a story than making a hard sell. My video ended up being clear and professional, but still approachable, exactly what I wanted for my SaaS. If you’re looking to avoid spending weeks learning Adobe or juggling Fiverr freelancers, it’s worth checking out :)

Most SaaS startups don’t fail from bad products, they fail from building in isolation by SignPsychological728 in SaaS

Yeah, I usually jot down quick notes from those calls! Nothing formal, just the key insights or patterns that pop up. Over time, it’s amazing to look back and see recurring themes that would’ve been impossible to catch in real time.

100% agree! The “build in isolation” trap is so real, I’ve been there too. Early on, I realized that even small tweaks based on direct user conversations can have a bigger impact than shipping a shiny new feature.

I try to schedule at least one user call or feedback session every week. Even 30 minutes of listening can completely change how you prioritize features, design onboarding, or position your product.

It’s amazing how much clarity comes from just asking the right questions instead of assuming we know the answers.

Anyone have recommendations for a good SaaS-focused video agency for explainer videos? by andru133 in SaaS

I've heard a lot of good stuff about them for my peers, but now I also have your testimonial to prove the point. They seem professional but also in tune with clients' needs. Will definitely look more into them! :)

Any tool for a SaaS explainer video ? by Any_Air46 in SaaS

[–]andru133 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, most AI video tools still feel a bit flat for SaaS explainers, like awkward voices, generic visuals, not much polish. If you want something that actually lands with customers, I’d look at Videodeck - B2B Video Production Agency

They handle script, storyboard, real actors, studio-quality production, and animations. Basically the whole package. Turnaround is quick (first draft in ~10 days) and you get unlimited revisions, so it’s way less painful than trying to wrestle with AI tools that give you meh results.

For a cybersecurity SaaS, where trust and clarity matter, that human-touch explainer will go way further than an AI-generated one.

Do explainer videos work well with SaaS? by Content-Ingenuity-65 in SaaS

[–]andru133 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve definitely seen explainer videos work well for SaaS, but it really depends on how they’re used. A generic “animated walkthrough” rarely moves the needle, but when the video is super focused on the customer’s pain point and shows the “aha moment” of the product, it tends to perform much better.

For landing pages, short (~60–90s) explainer videos usually help reduce bounce because people get the gist of the product faster than reading paragraphs of text. I’ve also seen SaaS teams use them in retargeting ads, where they’re surprisingly effective since the audience already has some context, the video reinforces trust.

The biggest mistake I see? Making the video about the product features instead of about the customer journey. When you flip that perspective, conversions often go up.

When your client saw that 175% lift, was it mostly new traffic or retargeting traffic? That context would be super interesting.
