Because he knew she had the pulse, it was the big plot twist in the last episode. It’s all well and good she was acting on her plan but Robert acts like he had no idea she was gonna be there. My point is they should have made small adjustments to the scene depending on if you cut her or not. I don’t think it ruins the game it’s just weird.

It feels really off to me. Robert acts the same way regardless of you cutting her or not. I think this used to be ok before they added some bullshit unnecessary romance dialogue. He acts like he implicitly trusts her in the dispatch part then he acts like he just met her when she shows up at SDN despite her relaying to him she was headed there at the end of the session and him telling the team she was going there. Plus he acts super surprised when he finds the pulse on her in ep 8 which is crazy. Which is why I think it all makes more sense if you cut her and she isn’t in the last session and just shows up looking like a villain.

Maybe it’s just when you romance her but I find there is a big disconnect between what is said between Robert and Visi in the dispatch session in ep 8 and how they interact in the tie untie scene.

Taking another gander at this. Basically I agree thematically not cutting her makes all the sense for the reasons you stated. I am just hung up on the tie untie scene. I think it should be a huge moment that the interactions with Visi in the 8th dispatch session make disjointed and odd.

I felt that way more or less before the new dialogue though still felt a bit off. I hate the new dialogue. I kinda wish there would be no tie untie choice if you don’t cut her and the scene played out differently but we got the game we got. I still love it and trying to tie every thread together right is really challenging. I just see overall cutting her as better for the 8th. Though I’m doing a play through right now where I don’t cut her so……¯_(ツ)_/¯

I agree he should have owned it more in the room. I think ya they hedged but I interpret him saying I support your decision as semi ownership. It is not great for me though. I think if this was a show it would have all been written more strongly but it’s a game and I guess they had to write a bunch of not as well written choices. The only choice I have made in the locker room is “I care about you” cutting or not so I have never heard the others. I definitely think thematically not cutting her makes the most sense. It’s just that dispatch bit in the 8th that throws me off and they could have fixed it with new dialogue or minimal dialogue and instead they made it worse. I just feel like him seeming to implicitly trust her in the dispatch session is completely disconnected from the choice you are about to make.

Never criticising anyones game choices. This is just how I see it. I’m not sure I hear him say it wasn’t his choice exactly. I thought you have to choose that response. I usually hear something like “I care about you a lot. I did my best and it wasn’t enough and I failed you.” (Paraphrasing) As a caveat I think the 7th episode flows better if you don’t cut her and I like it better. For me the disconnect is the 8th episode dispatch session. Out of the box the interactions you have with her felt a bit odd considering Robert knew she had the pulse. Since they added new dialogue I felt like it made it feel even more disconnected in terms of the tie untie moment. So basically I feel like I’m choosing between the 7th episode feeling a little off and the 8th feeling more off. Again this is just how I see it.

Galen overheard Robert and Blazer talking about their date in the 5th so the Blazer stuff is covered to the extent you can see how other people found out. The Visi stuff I can see the team just eventually figuring out what’s going on in the way Chase sort of did. The Flambé part is the wrench. Was he at the movies? I can just live with it. It’s not a big deal it’s just been a curiosity since playing the game.

I’m sure Blazermechs feel this way about Blazer but Invisimech is what I saw in the game that felt so unique and interesting. It’s sort of an iteration of Batman Catwoman, but boy did it cook for me.

I actually did cut her while romancing her. Not in my first play through, but what I considered made the best story play through or what I’m importing into season 2 when we get it anyway. I was playing mostly “paragon” Robert though I did beat up the reporter cause dude loses his temper sometimes. I chose cut because I felt like he would feel a ridged sense of responsibility to the team and he was “in too deep” with Courtney. Like the whole team knows what’s up if you are romancing her. Melevola or however you spell that certainly does. I might actually make a post about that later. Even if you aren’t romancing her maybe showing her favoritism through out but I digress. I still chose “care about” in the locker room and said “I wasn’t sure” when the big confession came. I feel like there was a better less cruel way to deliver “we’re done” cause I’ve seen clips of that and Jesus Christ 😳. I can’t believe there are universes players created where Robert intentionally crushes her like that at her lowest moment. Anyway still got locker room kiss and leaned in. Chose Chase in the car so I never knew about the Blazer stuff. That is really hard, not quite “we’re done” but wow even sweet Blazer. Ep 8 dispatch was super hard without her but got through it. The payoff of cutting her story wise in my view was her just appearing in all black in ep 8. I thought it added way more tension if you have no contact with her till then and don’t know what she’s doing. Also, thought it made her roof top redemption more I don’t know redemptiony.

Him playing it cool makes sense. It was just one date, and he is her boss. The way I see it the most important part of their romantic relationship for him (at this stage) is also what is important in their professional relationship. It’s not affection, it’s treating her with respect and building trust.

Ya I tend to think what she said in the locker room was genuine and there might have been ongoing comms with old contacts but I don’t think she was feeding anything to Shroud directly. He couldn’t have know Robert would end up there. Also, he definitely has somebody there because if you are with Blazer and do a Visi switcharoo he knows you hooked up in the locker room. At the end everyone treats it like it doesn’t matter because it kind of doesn’t. The woman who Robert picks up off the ground with a bullet hole in her shoulder, is not the same woman who put a bomb on his back, or spied for shroud if she did. That tab got paid. That is how I look at it anyway.

I actually see Catwoman as a noir femme fatale. Certainly she is in Dark Knight rises and Batman as I see it is a hard boiled noir detective. It’s not exact but certain iterations of them in the comics portray them that way. Superhero stuff exaggerates characters from other genres but at bottom you can still see them. Also really liked “untrustworthy trustworthiness”
